Joe and Lorene Fedler are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary today.
Joe Fedler and Lorene Menke were married April 20, 1949, in St.
Paul by the Rev. Francis Schaefer.
Joe is a retired farmer and rural mail carrier. Lorene retired after
working many years for the West Point Bee and Donnellson Star
weekly newspapers.
They are the parents of Jean (Jerry) Menke of Danville, Janice
(Jerry) Kruse of Salem, the late Kenneth (Jeanne) Fedler of New London, Karen (Bill) Wagner of Nixa, Mo., Peggy (Dennis) Bubniak of
Springdale, Ark., Cliff (Kathy) Fedler of Lubbock, Texas, Bob (Betty)
Fedler of Salem, Rollie (Kim) Fedler and Craig Fedler, both of West
Point, and Debra Wellman of Pleasant Hill.
They also have 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and
three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Savannah Rice and Sean Bennett, both of New London, will be
married April 26 in a private ceremony. A reception will follow at
5:30 p.m. at Tama Event Center,

Rice of Mount Pleasant and Ron
and Donna Bennett of Sperry.
The bride-elect is a graduate
of Mount Pleasant High School
and Capri College in Cedar Rapids with a degree in cosmetology.
She is the manager at The Salon
at Younkers in Westland Mall.
The bridegroom-elect is a
graduate of Mediapolis High
School and Southeastern Community College with a degree in
auto body. He works at Collision
Center in West Burlington and
Bennett’s Paintless Dent Repair.
The couple will live in the
New London area.
Emily McDermott and Nathan
Roberts, both of Iowa City, will
be married July 19 at the Riverside Festival Stage in Iowa City.
Parents of the couple are Jeffrey and Pamela McDermott of
Dubuque, and Tim and Criss
Roberts and Lisa Mosely, all of
Burlington.
The bride-elect is a graduate
of the University of Iowa with a
bachelor of arts degree in health
and human physiology. She is
a farming intern at Long Creek
Acres Organic.
The bridegroom-elect is
a graduate of the University
of Iowa with a bachelor of
arts degree in biology. He is a
research assistant in the University’s Cellular and Molecular
Biology lab.

Miller, both of Burlington, will
be married May 25 at St. John’s
Catholic Church in Burlington.
Parents of the couple are William and Susan Bauer and Linda
Miller and the late Richard A.
Miller, all of Burlington.
The bride-elect is a graduate
of Northern Illinois University
with a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy. She
works for the State of Iowa.
The bridegroom-elect is a
graduate of Burlington High
School. He is a chef at The Drake.
Ronald and Marthe Rheinschmidt of Burlington are celebrating
their 50th wedding anniversary.
Ronald Lee Rheinschmidt and Marthe Jaggi were married April
25, 1964, in France, where Ronald was stationed while serving in the
Air Force.
They have three daughters, Carol Sutter, Anita (Steve) Ridenhour
and Dawn (Danny) Spry, all of Missouri. They also have six grandchildren.
Ruth “Brownie” Pate will celebrate her 90th birthday April 26.
She was born April 26, 1924.
She has two daughters, Vicki
Morris and the late Jerri Edewaard, and two granddaughters.

Norman Bourn and Elizabeth Perrenoud were married April 18,
1954, at the United Methodist Church in Winfield.

Sioux Falls, S.D., and Cheryl Elaine (Thomas) Carney of Geneseo,
Ill., five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Tyler J. Runyon has received
an Air Force scholarship for
the Reserve Officers’ Training
Corps. The scholarship includes
tuition and fees and an allowance of $600 per semester for
educational assistance, textbooks, supplies and equipment,
and a monthly stipend for up to
10 months of each school year
during the first year at the host
college or university.
Upon graduation from college and completion of the ROTC
program, Runyon will receive
a bachelor’s degree and a commission of second lieutenant in
the Air Force. He will be obliged
to serve eight years either on
active duty or in the Air Force
Reserves.
Runyon is the son of Todd and
Richelle Runyon and grandson
of Richard and Karen Workman,
all of Keosauqua.
He is a 2014 graduate of Van
Buren High School, Keosauqua.
