The idea is fervently appropriated and rejected, and regularly defended and idealised. With its multiple nuances of meaning, the German word “Heimat” can hardly be defined precisely, let alone translated directly into other European languages. How resilient is this “grand word” in our globalised present, in times of flight, expulsion and migration? Before and after the panel, video extracts from the works of Gila Lustiger, Jeanine Meerapfel, Terézia Mora and Edgar Reitz will be shown in the clubroom. With: Gila Lustiger, writer Almut Möller, political scientist Terézia Mora, writer Edgar Reitz, filmmaker and author Jeanine Meerapfel, filmmaker and President of the Akademie der Künste Contact: Bettina C.
