Our Club Village is right on the coast, just 2 km from the city centre and 6 km from the historic quarter of
Rossano. You will be fascinated by the Byzantine beauty of this city, regarded as one of the finest historic
districts in Italy. The surrounding territory has wonderful natural resources to explore, so excursions in
the mountains and countryside can be organised, as well as visits to organic
food farms to appreciate the wine and food traditions of the area.

At the multipurpose sports fields of Marina di Rossano Club Village, you can give in to your passion for sports, choosing from fivea-side football, basketball, beach volleyball, bowls, ping pong, swimming, archery.
La costa di Rossano è formata soprattutto da sabbia mista a sassi ed incornicia un mare
pulito ed incontaminato. Le acque trasparenti e verdazzurre di questo tratto costiero sono
pescosissime. Molti praticano la pesca subacquea anche se di fronte al villaggio ci si può immergere senza bombole per pescare pesce azzurro e polipi di grosse dimensioni.
Il nostro staff cura meticolosamente ogni angolo di spiaggia… periodicamente si effettuano processi di aerazione, disinfettazione, sanificazione e desassificazione per togliere i sassi depositati sulla spiaggia dalle mareggiate.

unserem Pool und Bogenschießen.
The coast extending horizontally along the town of Rossano with sand and white cobblestones frames a pure, uncontaminated sea. These transparent, emerald-blue waters
abound in fish, and so provide the ideal setting to go scuba diving or fishing- you can easily
catch bluefish or bulky octopuses just swimming in front of the resort.
The Hotel beach-clean-up crew regularly (and thoroughly) maintains the beach; periodically
they carry out oxygenation & disinfection activities, and following, a sea storm they are in charge
of removing cobbles brought in by waves.

Situato tra montagne incontaminate e mare limpido, il Centro Storico di Rossano affascina per le bellezze bizantine che conserva e custodisce gelosamente. Eccone alcune. La Chiesa Cattedrale: era in origine un oratorio bizantino. Al suo interno conserva il superbo affresco parietale dell’Achiropita (Madonna non dipinta da mano
umana). La Chiesa di San Marco: edificata intorno al X secolo, è considerata
uno dei massimi esempi di architettura religiosa bizantina in Calabria. Nasce come
oratorio bizantino dedicato all’ascesi comunitaria dei monaci che vivevano nelle
sottostanti grotte di tufo. L’Abbazia del Patire: monumentale edificio bizantino
del XI-XII che conserva magnifici tappeti musivi pavimentali. Il Museo Diocesano:
istituito nel 1952, ha trovato nel 2003 definitiva sistemazione. Il Museo, tra le varie
testimonianze artistiche, custodisce il preziosissimo Codex Purpureus Rossanensis
(un evangelario mutilo, contenente il Vangelo di Matteo e di Marco scritto in greco
su 188 fogli di pergamena di colore rosso porpora, con 15 illustrazioni).
CULTURE • The town of Rossano is located between a pristine mountain range and a crystalclear sea; its charming Historical quarter zealously preserves precious Byzantine remains. Among
them, The Cathedral, originally a Byzantine Oratory. Inside we find, on a wall remnant, a superb
fresco representing The Virgin Mary called: “Achiropita” ( meaning in Greek “not created by man’s
hands”). There is also a church dedicated to St. Mark, erected in the X century approximately, and
considered one of the most significant examples of Byzantine architecture in Calabria. Originally
it was a Byzantine Oratory for the ascetic retreat of monks living in the tufa grottos underneath.
Worth visiting is the Abbey dedicated to the Virgin Mary to be found in a locality nearby,
called Patire - a massive edifice in Byzantine style of the XI -XII century; the mosaic flooring
inside is truly outstanding. The Diocesan Museum was established in 1952, but it was not
until 2003 when it found its permanent site. Among the different objects of historical, artistic and cultural relevance. the Museum exhibits the extremely precious Codex Purpureus
Rossanensis - a New Testament incomplete collection, gathering the Gospel according to
Matthew and the Gospel according to Mark. The text is written in Greek on 188 purple-red
parchment sheets decorated with 15 illustrations.
KULTUR • Die Stadt Rossano Liegt zwischen unberührte Bergwelt und das kristallklare
Meer. Die Reste der Altstadt der byzantinischen Bauten ist von einer raffinierten Schönheit
bekannt. Die Kathedrale: Es war ursprünglich eine byzantinische Oratorium. Im Inneren ist
auf einemteil eines Priesters, ein großartiges Fresko der Madonna gehalten (Achiropita) Das
heißt, nicht von Menschenhand gemalt. Die Kirche San Marco ist eines der größten Beispiele
byzantinischer sakraler Architektur in Kalabrien. Es begann als eine Kapelle von byzantinischen
Mönchen, die in unterirdischen Höhlen aus Tuffstein lebte. Sehenswert sind: Die Abtei befindet sich in einem Ort namens: “Patire“ – “Zu leiden“. Das monumentale Gebäude stammt
aus dem byzantinischen ‘XI-XII Jahrhundert. In ihr sind Bodenmosaike konserviert. Das Diözesanmuseum wurde 1952 gegründet, und fand seine endgültige Fassung im Jahr 2003. Das Museum enthält mehrere wichtige künstlerische und Kostbare Sammlung genannt Codex Purpureus
Rossanensis Diese Sammlung der Bücher des Neuen Testaments ist unvollständig. Heute kann man
das Evangelium nach Matthäus und Markus, sowohl in Griechisch geschrieben auf 188 Pergamentblättern der rot-violette Farbe, geschmückt sehen.

ENOGASTRONOMIA • E’ possibile conoscerla grazie alle visite
guidate organizzate in aziende agricole locali. L’ulivo è il simbolo
rappresentativo della storia millenaria di Rossano tanto che la nostra
si può definire la “Civiltà dell’Ulivo”. Le clementine sono frutti di inconfondibile qualità, senza semi, di colore arancione e dal sapore dolce e aromatico. Non bisogna poi dimenticare la produzione di miele,
formaggi e sardella (bianchetto o “Caviale di Bisanzio”).

GASTRONOMY: you can investigate the art of choosing, cooking and eating
the good food this land offers taking part in the guided visits to local farms. The
symbol of Rossano town’s millenary history is the olive tree, therefore the ethnic
group of this area is defined: “the Olive’s Society”. Our autochthonous tangerine,
the Clementine, is a high quality fruit variety: it has no seeds, it is bright reddishyellow, and it has a sweet aromatic flavour. Other regional produce are honey,
cheese of distinctive quality and a typical cream made up of small sardines called:
“sardella” or “bianchetto” or “The caviar of Byzantium”.

Rossano. Die Bevölkerung wurde definiert als: “Civilisation der Olivenbaum”. In diesem Bereich des Anbaus von Clementinen ist unverkennbare Qualität. Diese Zitrus
Orange ist kernlos und hat einen süßen Geschmack und Aroma. Hochwertige Produktion ist die Herstellung von Honig, Frischkäse und ein kleiner Fisch bekannt als:
“sardella“ oder “bianchetto“, oder “Kaviar von Byzanz.”

uno dei maggiori centri della Calabria. Il toponimo
Rossano sarebbe da porre in relazione al colore rossastro (lat. rubianum) delle balze e delle colline su cui è
arroccato l’antico abitato (timpe russe), ricche di graniti biolitici rossastri. Il territorio occupa una superficie di
149 kmq con altitudine compresa tra 0 e 1010 m s.l.m.
e con fronte di costa bassa, sull’ampio Golfo di Sibari.

Greca. Di particolare rilievo il borgo antico, ricco di cultura e suggestione che lo annoverano tra i centri storici
più belli d’Italia.
It is one of the most relevant urban centres in Calabria. The
toponym “Rossano” derives from the distinctive reddish shade - rubianum in Latin - of plateaus and hills or timpe russe
as they are called in the local dialect, where the old centre
was built. This distinctive feature is the consequence of the
abundant biolytic granite deposits the rocks of this land are
rich of. The municipality extends over 149 square kilometres,
mounting from 0 to 1010 meters of altitude above sea level;
it overlooks an arm of low seacoast in the Gulf of Sibari. The
natural environment presents different features- on the coast,
torrents and streams flow, nourishing the growth of a thriving
Mediterranean vegetation, blooming gardens and farmed citrus fields; the crowning hills are spangled with ancient olive
and chestnut trees; in the “Greek Sila” mountaneous landscape
are pleasant valleys, emerald-green pine trees and shadowy
spruce woods as its most representative attributes. The old
town deserves particular attention, thanks to its several cultural
attractions and evocative atmosphere, it is a proud member of
the “The most beautiful villages in Italy” Club.
Rossano ist einer der wichtigsten Zentren von Kalabrien.
Sein Name würde in Bezug auf die rötliche Farbe gesetzt
(aus dem Lateinischen rubianum). Im Hochlands und Hügel
auf dem die Altstadt thront (genannt: Timpe Russe), rötlich
Granit-reiche organische Sedimente. Das Gebiet hat eine
Fläche von 149 qkm, liegt auf einer Höhe von zwischen 0
und 1010 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel. Die Stadt liegt
an einer tief liegenden Küstengebieten der großen Golf
von Sybaris. Die natürliche Umgebung ist sehr vielfältig.
Die Küstenlinie ist durchzogen von Bächen und Flüssen, an
dessen Ufern die wohlhabenden mediterraner Vegetation.
Hier werden verschiedene Obstgärten Kultiviert. Auf den
Hügelnsind Oliven-und Kastanienbäume. Die Berge und
Täler, sind von schattige Pinienwälder, Vegetation der Sila
Greca abgedeckt. Das alte Dorf der Stadt Rossano ist von
besonderer Bedeutung, da sie reich an Kultur und Charme
ist. Es ist Teil des Clubs: “Die schönsten historischen Zentren
Italiens”.
