Submission deadline for all contributions: 31 January 2016
Contributions must not have been published elsewhere. This also applies to translations of
previously published articles. If at all possible, contributions should be written in Kant’s
native language, German. Please follow the current German grammar and spelling guidelines.
English and French submissions are also very welcome.
Authors who compose their contributions in a language that is not their native language are
required to have a native speaker check their manuscripts. Submissions with spelling and
grammar deficiencies and manuscripts that do not comply with the formatting guidelines
cannot be accepted for publication.
Given the large number of contributions it will not be feasible to print papers accepted by not
actually presented at the conference in September.

Formal requirements for submitted manuscripts
I General guidelines
The manuscript should be submitted as a .doc or .docx file format (Microsoft Word). Please
forward your submission electronically via email to: [email protected].

II Guidelines for the manuscript
1. Please submit a full paper, consisting of max. 8 pages (= 20.000 characters, spaces,
footnotes and references included). Due to the large scope, please note that only text can be
accepted those who are not exceeding the maximum number of characters.
2. Please use throughout: Times New Roman, 12 pt. and 1.5 line spacing or 10 pt. line spacing
and 1.0 (footnotes), flush left, no hyphenation. Greek letters intrude into Latin script.
1 3. Notes are to be numbered consecutively (superscript, no brackets). They will appear as
footnotes. In the text file, the notes should be created using the note function of your word
processor.
4. Paragraphs and indents. End a paragraph with a paragraph mark (enter key).
5. Mark ups. Use italic type only for emphasis. This also concerns the reproduction by
spaced text, small capitals, caps, bold type etc. in quotations.
Titles of books and other works should be formatted in italics, words from other languages
should not be formatted in italics.
6. Standardized abbreviations are: comparisons: cf., edited by: ed., editor: ed.
7. Punctuation mark. Please notice:
- Only use standard German quotation marks such as („ “/‚ ‘) or in English (“ ”/ʻ ’) or in
French (« »/‹ ›).
- No spaces before and after slashes (/).
- After colons, entire sentences are beginning with capital letters, incomplete sentences with
small letters (lowercase)
The hyphen (‐) is a punctuation mark without a space (-) before and after.
En Dash (–) is slightly wider than the hyphen.
8. Subheads: Use only two levels of subheading (up to 1.1.).
Subheadings should be numbered in Arabic numerals
III Quotations
(a) Quotations should be placed in double quotation marks (German: „…“ or English: “…” or.
French: « … »). Only longer quotations, which appear indented and in smaller print, do not
need quotation marks. Single quotation marks shall be used for the marking of words or
terms, of quotations not presented in the original form but offering a particular meaning, or in
figurative speech.
(b) Omissions in quotations are marked by three dots placed in square brackets which are
separated from the preceding and the following word by a single space.
(c) Punctuation marks which end a quotation are to be placed outside the quotation, unless
whole sentences are being quoted.
The superscript number of the note which points to the bibliographic information of the
quotation in the footnote has to appear directly after the quotation mark closing the quotation,
but always behind a punctuation mark if necessary, followed by quotation marks.
A number pointing to a note without the source of a quotation is to be placed at the end of the
sentence after the closing punctuation - unless the note is related to a specific word or part of
a sentence, in which case the number is placed right behind the word or part of the sentence
before the punctuation mark that closes the part of the sentence in question.
All titles of original texts, monographs, or journals should appear in italics in the footnotes
and in the body text.
Monographs should only appear with their place of publication without giving the name of the
publisher.
2 Please do not use relational references (e.g. ibid. or see above) but always repeat the actual
reference.
The citation of pages should appear as simple numbers without adding a ‚p.’. The citation of
two consecutive pages should be done by writing f. (i.e., 24f., instead of 24–5). Page numbers
must be indicated exactly, ff. is not allowed.
Please specify names and do not use bullet (point) or the like.
Locations must be spelled out (e.g. Frankfurt am Main and not Frankfurt a.M.). Where there
are several publishing locations, please separate them by a slash (e.g. Berlin/New York).
Editions are to be indicated by a superscript number before the year (e.g. ²1985)
