Baumaschinenlieferungen im Juni 2015

Vom gesamten Baumaschinenliefervolumen im Wert von Yen 196,2 Mrd. (+4,4%) im Juni
2015 entfielen Yen 80,7 Mrd. (+10,9%) auf das Inland und Yen 115,5 Mrd. (+0,2%) auf den
Export. Der Inlandsabsatz und der Export sind seit 3 Monaten kontinuierlich gestiegen. Der
Gesamtabsatz ist seit 4 Monaten gestiegen.
Aufgeteilt nach Maschinenarten stieg der Inlandsabsatz von Planierraupen um 28,5% [Yen
8,5 Mrd.], von Minibaggern um 37,0% [Yen 10,1 Mrd.], von Baukranen um 27,3% [Yen 16,9
Mrd.], Straßenbaumaschinen um 47,3% [Yen 3,5 Mrd.], von Betonsteinmaschinen um 18,4%
[Yen 2,2 Mrd.], von Hydraulikhämmern und・-brechern um 12,8% [Yen 1,6 Mrd.], bei sonstigen Baumaschinen um 18,9% [Yen 5,7 Mrd.] und bei Baumaschinenteilen um 0,6% [Yen 9,8
Mrd.]. Der Inlandsabsatz ist insgesamt um 10,9% gestiegen.
Bezugnehmend auf den Auslandsabsatz nach Maschinenarten sind die Lieferungen bei Planierraupen um 5,3% [Yen 15,9 Mrd.], bei Minibaggern um 13,1,0% [Yen 14,8 Mrd.], bei Straßenbaumaschinen um 9,5% [Yen 3,0 Mrd.], bei Spezialtiefbaumaschinen um 128,6% [Yen
0,4 Mrd.], bei Hydraulikhämmern und・-brechern um 24,0% [Yen 0,8 Mrd.], bei sonstigen
Baumaschinen um 4,6% [Yen 14,6 Mrd.], bei Baumaschinenteilen um 6,6% [Yen 13,5 Mrd.]
und bei Tunnelbaumaschinen [Yen 0,7 Mrd.] gestiegen.
Nach Regionen ist der Auslandsabsatz in Nordamerika seit 11 Monaten und im Nahen und
Mittleren Osten seit 5 Monaten kontinuierlich gestiegen. In 5 von 9 Regionen ist der Auslandsabsatz insgesamt um 0,2% gestiegen.

Komatsu to invest big in power conservation

Komatsu will invest 20 billion yen ($160 million) to halve power consumption at two major
plants in a bid to pare fixed expenses and improve productivity.
In the three years through fiscal 2017, the company aims to reduce costs by around 30
billion yen. Half of that will be achieved in areas related to power consumption.
The Oyama plant in Tochigi Prefecture produces key components for engines and hydraulic
equipment. Part of the outlays will go toward reducing power consumption more than 50% by
conserving electricity in lighting, air conditioning and power distribution.
Two engine production facilities will be upgraded by fiscal 2018 at a cost of 2.5 billion
yen. Air conditioning will make use of cool underground water, with buildings cooled only to a
height of 2-3 meters above ground. Large radiators for construction machinery repurposed
for the air conditioning system will enhance cooling efficiency.
To save money in lighting, Komatsu will install LED fixtures along with thermally insulated
glass in windows.

Furthermore, 7.5 billion yen will be spent on production equipment such as machine tools.
Installing machine tools developed with subsidiary Komatsu NTC and
consolidating production processes will help conserve energy and shorten process times.
Compared with existing production lines, the new approach will shorten production time per
unit by 50%.
The Osaka plant's reduction gear facilities and heat treatment facilities will undergo a 10
billion yen upgrade by fiscal 2018. Heat treatment furnaces, accounting for 2.5 billion yen of
the outlays, will allow for exhaust heat to be recovered and used in heating. Generators
powered by exhaust gas will also be installed.

Kubota startet Offensive mit kleinen Baumaschinen in Nordamerika

Kubota geht in die Offensive bei kleinen Baumaschinen in Nordamerika. Neben der Erweiterung der Produktgruppen bei den beliebten kompakten Baumaschinen für Transport "Skid
Steer Loader (SSL)" und "Compact Track Loader (CTL)" wird das Vertriebsnetz für die Verbesserung der Qualität des gesamten Geschäfts reorganisiert. Auch bei den Anbaugeräten
wird das Spektrum durch die Kooperation mit anderen Herstellern erweitert. Trotz der Stagnation in vielen Baumaschinenmärkten der Welt, wie in China und Europa, plant Kubota, in
einem der wenigen Wachstumsmärkte wie Nordamerika sein Geschäft auszubauen.
Das Hauptgeschäft im Bereich Baumaschinen sind bei Kubota kompakte Baumaschinen
(Gesamtgewicht unter 6 t. Der Umsatz in Nordamerika beträgt zurzeit ca. 50 Mrd. Yen.
Kubota beabsichtigt, den Umsatz bis Dezember 2019 zu verdoppeln. Bei kompakten Baumaschinen in Nordamerika konzentriert sich die Nachfrage auf SSL, CTL und Backhoes.
Kudota führt den SSL in diesem Sommer ein und bereitet damit die komplette Linie vor. Neben der Einführung von High-End-Modellen kommen im Frühjahr 2016 Modelle auf den
Markt, die für den Anwender einfach zu bedienen sind.
Auf der Verkaufsebene plant Kubota bis zum Ende des Jahres, etwa 600 Verträge mit Einzelhändlern, die eine komplette Linie von Kubota-Produkten anbieten abzuschließen. Bis
jetzt hat Kubota bereits Kaufverträge mit 500-600 Händlern unterzeichnet. Mit neuen Verträgen plant Kubota den Austausch des Vertriebsnetzes voranzutreiben, um die Verkaufsqualität zu erhöhen. In Nordamerika ist ein Parallelverkauf von mehreren Herstellern Usus. In
Zukunft möchte Kubota den In-Store-Anteil von Kubota-Produkten erhöhen, um dadurch
mittel- bis langfristig seinen Marktanteil zu steigern.
Kobelco Cranes Opens German Representative Office to Strengthen Large Crawler

Kobelco Cranes announced the establishment of a representative office in Frankfurt,
Germany, aimed at strengthening its large crawler crane business. The announcement was
made on July 10th at an opening ceremony attended by Akihiko Tsukamoto, President of
Kobelco Cranes, and other dignitaries at the Westin Grand Frankfurt Hotel.
President Tsukamoto stated, “In order to develop and grow our overall crawler crane
business by 2020, the 300-ton class and above is a priority. How quickly and smoothly we
can introduce this line is the key. The Frankfurt office will improve our market research and
analysis through worldwide “Voice of the Customer” contact from a base in Germany which

we consider the center of the large size crawler crane market, and where we can expect to
establish ties with market-leading parts-suppliers and outstanding engineering consulting
firms.”
Kobelco Cranes, in developing its medium-term plan in March 2014, has set the further
growth of its large crawler crane business as one of the priorities, and the establishment of
the Frankfurt office will be one of those concrete measures to achieve the goal. We start our
operation initially with three staff but eventually expand it to almost double.
In fiscal year 2015, Kobelco Cranes has begun to take steps for the implementation of its
long-term product strategy and the strengthening of the organization for its large crawler
crane business. The tangible execution plan will be reflected in the next mid-term plan
starting in April 2016. The plan calls for the business to support a growth in total sales in the
future of approximately 30%.
Furthermore, the Kobelco subsidiary Kobelco Cranes Europe Ltd., with locations in the
United Kingdom and the Netherlands, will continue selling and servicing the Kobelco crawler
crane lineup from small to very large sizes for their customers throughout Europe.

Caterpillar-Japan hat mittelgroße Bulldozer (D6T im Foto), die den Kriterien des Off-RoadGesetzes 2014 entsprechen, auf den Markt gebracht. Mittels eines Systems zur Reduzierung der Stickoxide (NOx) hat Cat sie dem Standard von 2014 angepasst.
Die Emissionen werden dadurch reduziert, dass ein Teil der Abgase gekühlt wird, sie zur
Ansaugseite zirkulieren und somit die Verbrennungstemperatur senken. Ebenfalls wurde ein
Harnstoff-SCR(Selective Catalytic Reduction)-System eingesetzt.
Durch die Schaltautomatikerweiterung kann der Fahrer die optimale Geschwindigkeit für den
Einsatz wählen. Sie verringert den Kraftstoffverbrauch, indem sie je nach Last automatisch
den effizientesten Gang auswählt. Das vorherige Getriebe mit 3 Gängen wurde durch ein
Getriebe mit 6 und 9 Gängen ersetzt, sodass der Fahrer die Fahrgeschwindigkeit bei schweren und leichten Anwendungen optimieren kann. Ist die Schaltautomatikerweiterung aktiviert,
ermöglicht das bidirektionale Schaltsystem die Voreinstellung von Vorwärts/Rückwärtsgangbereichen, sodass der Fahrer diese Auswahl nicht ständig bei jedem Richtungswechsel neu vornehmen muss.

Kobelco Construction Machinery arbeitet mit der Universität Hiroshima zusammen,
um Hydraulikbagger der nächsten Generation zu entwickeln

Zusammen mit der Hiroshima University Graduate School of Engineering hat Kobelco ein
Forschungsprojekt gestartet. Bei diesem Projekt ist geplant, das Anwenderverhalten zu analysieren und für die Produktentwicklung zu nutzen. Ende März 2019 soll das Projekt enden,
und die Kosten sollen sich auf ca. 200 Millionen Yen belaufen. Forscher von Kobelco und der
Hiroshima University arbeiten zusammen, um die Forschungsergebnisse in Kobelco- Hydraulikbagger zu implementieren, die nach diesem Forschungs-Zeitraum auf den Markt gebracht werden sollen.

Kobelco Construction Machinery bringt bis Oktober drei kleine Minibaggermodelle (minimumswing-radius) (Foto) in der 3-5 t-Klasse, die den Kraftstoffverbrauch um bis zu etwa 23 bis
25% im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen Maschinen reduzieren, auf den Markt. Sie werden mit
einem speziellen Energiesparmodus ausgerüstet. Das Verkaufsziel der drei Modelle liegt bei
insgesamt 420 Einheiten pro Jahr.
