Bachelor Degree Courses:
Linguistic entry requirements for candidates who
are not native speakers of German or French 1
Candidates who
did not do their Matura or Berufsmatura in Switzerland (general or vocational
post-compulsory secondary school qualification, ISCED level 3 or 4 respectively) and
are not native speakers of German or French
must, before beginning their studies, provide evidence that they have sufficient language
skills to be able to study their degree subject in the language they have chosen. Level
B2/C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (also known
as the European Language Porfolio) is the minimum requirement.
For candidates who wish to choose German as their language of study, the following
certificates will be accepted as evidence of sufficient language skills:

Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH) (Level B2/C1)
Goethe-Zertifikat C1/Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung (ZMP) (Level C1)
Goethe Institute Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung (ZOP) (Level C2)
Goethe Institute Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom (Level C2)
Goethe Institute Grosses Deutsches Sprachdiplom (Level C2)
TELC (The European Language Certificates) Deutsch (Level C1 or C2)
Austrian German Diploma (ÖSD) Mittelstufe Deutsch (Level C1)
Austrian German Diploma (ÖSD) Wirtschaftssprache Deutsch (Level C2)

Candidates may also be admitted if they can prove that
they have passed a language entrance examination for admission to a Swiss
university
or
they have already successfully completed a tertiary-level course in the language in which they wish to study at the SCA.
In addition to proficiency in the language of study, candidates are expected to have sufficient skills in the second national language, French, as French is one of the teaching
languages at the SCA. In order to be able to follow the modules in the first year of study,
candidates should have at least level B1 of the European Language Portfolio, ideally level
B2.
