Sharon Brauner, the niece of the famous film
producer Arthur Brauner, not only comes from a
Jewish family, she manages to transfer old Jewish
songs to modern Germany. Not only her wonderful
voice but her manner and her stories touch you to the
very bottom of your soul.
“Beimirbist Du schön!”(“To me you're beautiful”), an old
Yiddish folk song once made popular by the Andrew Sisters
sensation, is an exuberant homage to Yiddish popular music
and also a musical journey through the biography of the artist
Sharon Brauner. Shethis takes us awayto discover brand new
facets of Jewish culture. Songs you've never heard before,
Jewish classics and her own songs are presented with humour
and an unbridled zest of life. Her soft clear voice andcharisma
touch the listener and leave the audience feeling animated.
