1. Feature of SRF
SRF is a new PET film which eliminated iridescence (Rainbow-mura)
derived from birefringence.

COSMOSHINE SRF®
2. Application to LCD Polarizer
The reliability of LCD strongly depends on the property of substrate film
which is the top surface material of LCD-panel.
3. Property of SRF
3-1. Typical property
 Higher retardation than conventional PET ⇒ Rainbow free.
 Lower moisture permeability than TAC ⇒ High reliability
4. Reliability of Polarizing Plates

Polyester(PET) is an excellent material, but PET has not been
regarded as an optical material. This is due to its optical
anisotropy, which cause rainbow-mura.
In order to overcome this problem, we took the approach of
significantly increasing the optical anisotropy.
COSMOSHINE SRF® is a new PET film which eliminated
Rainbow-mura.
Applying SRF to the substrate of polarizing plate brings
remarkable improvement of the reliability of LCD.

 Transmitted light though birefringent material placed between crossed polarizers has interference
color, because its transmittance depends on the wave length.
 Transmitted light through SRF is colorless, because many ransmission peaks are mixed.
