IFDA Board Member, RAMSCALE Executive Manager & Producer
Welcome to Japan, George Ellis!
George Ellis, known as the executive producer of RAMSCALE, has made his first arrival to Japan on March 22 nd,
2015. RAMSCALE is a penthouse-type wedding venue with high recommendations from New Yorkers, located in
Manhattan NY and also gives a hand-to-hand partnership with IFDA. George was born in UK, after his graduation
from Manhattan College, he is currently studying at PARSONS, which is known as one of the most superior design
school all around the world. RAMSCALE produces not only weddings but also various events and parties. SHOKO,
who is board member of IFDA from the establishing term, is the executive advisor in RAMSCALE.
March 23rd, Visit to See ZEN Style Wedding
As the cherry blossoms starting to wake up for spring at Togo Shrine,
located in Meiji Jingumae, George had a opportunity to learn manners at
the shrine such as the “Temizu” (known as a manner to wash your hands)
and the “Sanpai” ( known as the
way to pray for God) by Mr.
Kitamura who is CEO of IFDA).
By having a chance to take a look of the ZEN style wedding, George and the
rest of the IFDA members were fascinated to the traditional cultures of
Japan with the guidance by the staffs of Togo Shrine.
March 24th, Special Seminar Presented by George at Claris Wedding Planner School!
The seminar showed some video clips such as the electric slide dance
and a joyous wedding of a gay couple. At the end of the seminar, George
said this comment : I was born in UK, I have to learn about traditional
NY wedding’s knowledge. It was a splendid chance to meet SHOKO, and
obtain the knowledge from her. Thanks to her, I can hold a position of
responsibility in RAMSCALE.
March 26th, Intercommunication Lunch with Zexy
The intercommunication with Mrs. Kamimoto (chief editor) and Mr. Matsubara (Group Manager) over lunch buzzed
to notice each country’s weddings. George was asked about the trends and situations of the NY weddings. Mrs.
Kamimoto and Mr. Matsubara explained about situations of Japanese weddings. We will find what the party-style
wedding should be in Japan soon…
March 27th, Visit to See the Shinden and the Ballroom at Teikoku Hotel
With the guidance by Mrs. Akutsu, we stepped into the “Shinden” and had a
explanation of “San San Ku Do”. Regardless to say how profound it was… We
also had a watch of the biggest ballroom in Teikoku Hotel, “Kujyaku No Ma”.
The Teikoku Hotel was established for guests of the national government and
has a incomparable tradition and history throughout Japan.
March 27th, Visit Anniversaire Minato Mirai Yokohama
George was amazed to the “wedding guest house” that would never been seen
in NY. “This location is the best to glance the entire view of Minato Mirai!” said
George with excitement. The chapel with the marine blue colored virgin road was
breathtaking.

The
“Daibutsu”
of
Kamakura sure fascinated George. He could fully enjoy Japanese
traditional culture!
♪Farewell Party Held the Night Before George’s Departure♪
George’s farewell party held at SHOKO’s studio atelier. We raise our glasses of
champagne, ‘Kampai’ ! We spent a wonderful NY style party time with delicious
catering foods and sushi, and had a dance time by his favorite songs of Billie Joel.
George gave his comments:
I deeply appreciate to those who all I interacted during my stay in Japan. The experience to seek the weddings and
cultures of Japan were beyond the best. It was a bazaar for me of the difference to NY. Japan is the best, I must say.
I am purely looking forward to seeing to everyone in Japan. See you!

の「RAMSCALE」より、George Ellis が来日しました。George はイギリス生まれで、マンハッタンカレッジ卒業後、NY の世界最高峰
といわれるデザインスクール「PARSONS」で学び、現在は「RAMSCALE」のエグゼクティブマネージャーとして活躍中。ウエディング
はもちろん、様々なイベントやパーティをプロデュースしています。また、IFDA 設立からのボードメンバーSHOKO は、「RAMSCALE」
のアドヴァイザーでもあります。George 来日中の様子をご紹介いたします！
3 月 23 日東郷神社にて、神前式を視察
神社内に咲き始めた桜に見守られながら、George は IFDA CEO の Mr. Kitamura より手水の作法、参拝の作法を教わりました。
荘厳な神前式、関係者のご案内によって学んだ日本の伝統文化に、George、IFDA スタッフ一同感激。
3 月 24 日クラリスウエディングプランナースクールにて、George による特別セミナー開催！
セミナーでは、エレクトリックスライドダンスを楽しむ光景や、自然な表情で楽しむゲイカップルのウエディングの映像も上映。WPP 講
座について、イギリス出身の George が NY マンハッタンで活躍するためには、NY ウエディングのトラディショナルで基本的な知識を身
に付けることは必須で、彼自身も WPP（SHOKO 指導）から学び、責任ある仕事ができるようになったとのメッセージで、エンディング。
3 月 26 日ゼクシィとの意見交換ランチ会
神本ゼクシィ編集長、松原ゼクシィグループマネージャーによる NY ウエディングのトレンドや現状などの質問に George がお答えし、
お二人からは日本の現状をお伺いする有意義な会となりました。日本のパーティスタイルのあるべき姿がすぐそこに・・・。
3 月 27 日帝国ホテル東京にて、神殿、ボールルームの視察
安久津次長のご案内にて、神殿に入り、三三九度、盃三献（「熨斗鮑」、「搗栗」、「昆布」）の由来のご説明をいただきました。奥深い
ものですね。日本の迎賓館として誕生し、輝かしい伝統と歴史を持つ帝国ホテル最大のボールルーム、「孔雀の間」も拝見。
同日アニヴェルセルみなとみらい横浜 Venue 視察
NY にはないゲストハウスに、George は感激。「みなとみらいを一望できる、絶好のロケーション！」と絶賛していました。青いバージ
ンロードの素敵なチャペルが、とても印象的でした。
（休日の様子）日本の象徴 Mt. FUJI は、やっぱりすごい！鎌倉の大仏も見学、名実ともに素晴らしい日本文化を満喫！
♪ 帰国日前夜 Farewell Party ♪
SHOKO 日本アトリエサロンにて開催、シャンパンで乾杯！ケイタリングお料理とお寿司、そして George も大好きなビリー・ジョエルの
曲に合わせて NY スタイルダンスタイム！

日本の皆さまのおかげで、日本のウエディングや文化に触れる貴重な経験をすることができました。NY との違いも多く、驚きました。で
も、日本の人々も日本文化も、大好きです。次回、また皆様にお会いできるのを、楽しみにしています。See you !
