Let`s cook up some sentences

LET’S COOK UP SOME SENTENCES!
You now know enough vocabulary to be able to form instructions, such as you would find in recipes.
You might have noticed that verbs in this challenge have a different ending to what you are used to seeing
– there is no ます on the end. That is because the verbs you have learnt in this challenge are in the plain or
dictionary form. This form of the verb has the same meaning as the ます form, but is used in different
situations, such as:
•
in the dictionary
•
when speaking to friends and family
•
when writing in diaries
•
giving instructions in recipes.
You will notice that the verbs all end in an ‘u’ ending letter from the hirgana chart.
Examine the patterns below to learn how to give instructions at different stages of a recipe.
