原級の書き換え・比較級、最上級の重要表現
原級の文
「～と同じくらい …」
as 原級 as～
「同じくらい」を表す原級の文では形容詞、副詞の前に as をつけ、もう一つ比べる相手
の前に as つける。
形容詞の文
Ken is tall.
Ken is as tall as Tom.
副詞の文
Ken runs fast.
Ken runs as fast as Mark.
原級の文を否定文にした場合
「～ほど・・・ではない。」という意味になる。
比較級の文で書き換えることができる。
例
This book is as interesting as that one. この本はあの本と同じくらいおもしろい。
Yumi swims as well as Ms. Green. ユミはグリーンさんと同じくらい上手に泳ぐ。
I don't play tennis as well as Mike. 私はマイクほどテニスが上手ではありません。
書き換え →Mike plays tennis better than I.
比較級・最上級の重要表現
比較級の強調「はるかに、ずっと」・・・ much + 比較級
(例 )
This question is much more difficult than that one. この問題はあの問題よりはるかに難
しい。
「だんだん、どんどん」 … 比較級 + and + 比較級
(例 )
Her voice became weaker and weaker. 彼女の声はだんだん弱くなっていった。
差を表す
(例 )
This building is two meters taller than that tree. この建物はあの木より２ m 高い。
「他のどの〜より」 … 比較級 + than any other + 名詞 (単数形 )
(例 )
Ken runs faster than any other boy. ケンは他のどの男の子より速く走る。
「最も〜なもののひとつ」 … one of the 最上級 + 名詞 (複数形 )

Kyoto is one of the most beautiful cities in Japan.
京都は日本でもっとも美しい都市のなかの一つです
「〜倍」 … 〜 times + as + 原級 + as 比べる相手
(例 )
Mr. Brown is twice as old as Ken. ブラウンさんはケンの２倍の年齢だ。
