Application Procedure for Sophia-Yale Exchange Program
starting Fall 2016(only for students in Doctoral Programs)
グローバル教育センターでは以下の要領で、Sophia-Yale 交換留学の募集を開始します。
Sophia will start recruiting students in Doctoral Programs for Sophia-Yale Exchange program.

January 13 to 14, 2016
9:30～11:30、12:30～17:00
グローバル教育センター（2 号館 1 階）
願書受付期間・受付場所

願書提出に先立ち、出願希望者は専攻主任及び指導教員からグローバル
教育センターへの推薦を受けることが必要。推薦受付期間は、2016 年 1
月 7 日（木）～1 月 12 日（火）
。
Applicants must have recommendation by Chairperson and academic
advisor of the Graduate Program during period from January 7 to 12
prior to application to Center for Global Discovery.

1) 最新の GPA が 2.8 以上であること。
To have latest GPA of 2.8 or above.
2) 出発時に本学博士後期課程 2～3 年次であること。
To be in the second or third year of Doctoral Program at the time of
departure.
3) 研究分野が日本研究に係る分野 (History, Art, Anthropology,
Economics, Sociology, Politics)であること。
Area of study must be related to Japanese studies (History, Art,
Anthropology, Economics, Sociology, Politics).
出願資格

4) 有効期限内の TOEFL iBT スコア、および GRE のスコアを有してい
ること。（点数について特に指定はないが、Yale での選考材料とな
る）
。
To have valid TOEFL iBT score and GRE score. (There are no
minimum score requirements, but those scores will be evaluated at
Yale.)
5) 専攻主任及び指導教員の推薦と承諾を得ていること。
To have approval from the Chairperson and the academic advisor of
the Graduate Program.
6) 心身ともに健康であること。
To be physically and mentally fit to study abroad.
7) 経済的保証および保証人の承諾があること。
To have financial backing and the guarantor’s approval.
以下のどちらかを選択し、Graduate School of Arts and Sciences にて受
入。
1) 研究目的（Visiting Assistant in Research – VAR）
2) 大学院授業の履修（Special Student – SS）
VAR を選択する場合、授業の履修は不可。
Research Advisor については、応募する学生自身が探すことが必要。心
当たりがない場合は、Yale のサイトより直接教員にコンタクトできる。

Status at Yale
Select either VAR or SS (for more information, see below links), and
student will be hosted at Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. If
student chooses VAR, it is not allowed to take courses from graduate
program. Student must find Research Advisor by oneself. The student
should contact the faculty member at Yale directly by looking at Yale’s
website.

個人情報についての大学の取扱い方針 Policy on use of the personal information for exchange program
提出された出願書類に記載された個人情報は選考および手続以外の目的では使用しません。
Center for Global Discovery will not use the personal information on the application forms for the purposes
other than the Internal selection and necessary procedures for the exchange program.
学内選考において不合格になった者の出願書類は選考後、6ヶ月以内にグローバル教育センター職員が責任を持って
廃棄処分とします。
Center for Global Discovery will dispose the application documents of the unsuccessful applicants within 6
months of the application selection.
