研究概要Outline of Research
本研究の目的は、民主化とグローバル化によって変容する現代の東南アジア
におけるレズビアン、ゲイ、バイセクシャルやトランスジェンダーなどの性的マイノ
リティ（以下、LGBT）の政治参加の実態と彼らを取り巻く国家や社会の対応
を比較の視点から明らかにすることにある。研究の進め方として、① LGBT の社
会運動、②国家、③社会、④司法の相互に関連する 4 つの分野に焦点をあ
て各国毎と各国間比較の分析を進める。
本研究の目的は、民主化とグローバル化によって変容する現代
の東南アジアにおける LGBT の政治参加の実態と彼らを取り巻く
国家や社会の対応を比較の視点から明らかにすることにある。研
究を進めるにあたり、① LGBT の社会運動、②国家、③社会、④
司法の相互に関連する 4 つの分野に焦点を当てて分析を行う。①
LGBT の社会運動の分野では、LGBT の社会運動が取る戦略や組
織の実態把握とともに、近年の東南アジアの民主化とグローバル
化が各国の LGBT 運動に与えた影響を明らかにする。②国家の分
野では、国家の LGBT に対する政策やイデオロギーの分析および、
それらと実態の乖離を分析することを通じて各国家の特性を明ら
かにする。③社会の分野では、歴史的経緯や宗教を踏まえつつ、
近年の一般社会の LGBT に対する
「眼差し」
の変化を明らかにする。
④司法の分野では、各国における LGBT の法的地位や裁判での争
点の分析を通じて①～③の視点で明らかになる論点を補足・拡充
する。
本研究を通じて東南アジアにおける（a）
「民主化の質」と（b）
グローバル化浸透の現地点を明らかにすることができる。性的マ
イノリティを国家や社会がどう扱うかは選挙実施に限定されない
民主化の実態を明らかにする恰好の指標であり、従来の選挙民主
主義以外の観点から東南アジアの民主化を再検討することができ
る。また、欧米で活性化した LGBT 運動やその思想が如何に東南
The purpose of this study is to research from a comparative perspective (a) the
political participation of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) and (b) the
response from the state and society to the LGBT community. This research focuses
on the following four fields related to the LGBT community; 1) social movements of
LGBT, 2) state, 3) society, and 4) judiciary and law.
The purpose of this study is to research from a comparative perspective the political participation of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) as well as the response from the state and society to the LGBT community. This research focuses on the following
four fields related to the LGBT community; 1) LGBT movements,
2) state, 3) society, and 4) judiciary and law.
1) The research on the LGBT movement will shed light on the
strategy and organization of LGBT movements as well as the influence of democratization and globalization upon the movements. 2)
The research on the state will analyze the policies and ideologies of
the state regarding the LGBT. 3) The research on the society will
focus on the changing perspectives of the society toward the LGBT
community; the study will be conducted from the perspective of history and religion. 4) The research on the judiciary and law will focus
on court cases and the legal status of LGBT people in various jurisdictions.
アジアに浸透し、現地の社会や国家にどんな反応を引き起こして
いるか、また、東南アジア域内でどのように相互の影響があらわ
れているかを見ることで、グローバル化の現地点も明らかにする
ことが可能である。
