Join us as we celebrate the opening of the
incredible new temporary exhibition Samurai
and the Culture of Japan’s Great Peace.
Through more than 150 objects, many of
which have never been on display, the
exhibition explores the fascinating history of
the samurai, from their early conflicts to 250
years of peace that concluded their reign. We’ll
have games, craft activities, a scavenger hunt and
performances. Come and explore Japanese
history and the fascinating world of the
samurai!

場所：ピーボディ自然史博物館
イェールピーボディ自然史博物館では、3月
より特別展『侍と天下泰平の文化(Samurai and
the Culture of Japan’s Great Peace)展』を開催
いたします。当館のコレクションを中心に、
今回の特別展では150点以上の貴重資料を展
示、その多くがこのたび初公開となります。初
期の戦乱を経てその後250年にわたる天下泰平
を成し得た江戸文化をじっくり堪能していただけ
る特別展となります。
当展の開催を記念し、ピーボディ博物館では『「
刀」と「物語」：日本とその歴史を紐解く』と題
されたイベントを行います。お子様向けのゲ
ームやクラフト体験会、スカベンジャー・
ハントや演芸といったご家族でお楽しみ
いただける企画となっています。特別
