“Beauty within” 美しいひと
１９４５年８月に、広島、長崎に原爆が投下されてから今年で69年を迎えた。原爆の悲劇については、今日まで多く
の人々によって語り継がれてきたが、この作品は、日本人の被爆者だけでなく、韓国人や元連合国軍捕虜のオランダ
人被爆者にも取材を行い、生き延びた人々のその後の人生を追った、戦争とは何か、人間とは何かに迫るドキュメン
タリー。作品には、韓国の陜川（ハプチョン）原爆被害者福祉会館で暮らす、広島で被爆した三人の韓国人、長崎で
収容中に原爆に遭った三人のオランダ人元兵士、長崎で被爆し、家族を失った一人の日本人女性が登場。原爆に屈す
ることなく、自分の人生を生き抜いた人たちが、あの日、何を見たのか。人生をどう生きたのかを語りかけてくれる。
Sixty-nine years have passed since the atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August
in 1945. "Beauty Within" is a documentary film including interviews with a Japanese survivor who lost her
family in the atomic bombing on Nagasaki, three Koreans who survived the atomic bombing on Hiroshima
and are now living at the Hapcheon Atomic Bomb Victim Welfare Center in Hapcheon, South Korea, and
three former Dutch captives of the Imperial Japanese Army who survived the atomic bombing on
Nagasaki.
