Recommendation ① Play Museum Recommendation ② Museum grounds An experiential exhibit room where you can try on Date Masamune’s helmet, among other things. There are also workshops related to each special exhibit. Discover a Meiji-era tea house, a monument to Lu Xun, and a statue of Date Masamune outside the museum. From 11:30 a.m. you can take a tour of the museum grounds and receive a Sendai Castle exploration map. Ms. Alise’s Recomendation Ms. Fu’s Recommendation The Sendai City Museum is my favorite museum. You can find out how people used to live and discover the charm of Tohoku. The surrounding area is historical as well, so you can spend the whole day as if in time travel! And I love looking at the ukiyoe. They enchant me with their pretty colors. --Ms. Alise from Latvia My recommendation is the Museum Shop. There are Tamamushi-nuri lacquerware pieces that you can’t buy in Sendai’s souvenir shops, cute notepads, and sweets. Made with plenty of cabbage, okonomiyaki is a food you can healthily indulge in. ♪ It’s often called the pancake or pizza of Japan. ■Ingredients (Makes 6 servings) ・80g flour ・3 eggs ・1/2 cup (100cc) water ・500g (1/2 head) cabbage (finely chopped) ・2 teaspoons bonito meal (fish meal) ・Vegetable oil (for cooking) ■Directions 1 Put the ingredients marked a. in a bowl. ○ a. [Fillings] Put in whatever you like! For example . . . ・Meat, seafood, red pickled ginger, cheese, kimchi, etc. ■Toppings ・Okonomiyaki sauce ・Mayonnaise ・Seaweed flakes ・Bonito flakes 2 Mix well. ○ 3 Heat a frying pan and add some oil. Pour in some of the ○ batter and cook over low heat. 4 Lay your desired fillings on top, and wait for the first ○ side to cook. 5 When the okonomiyaki is browned, turn it over and ○ wait for the other side to cook. 6 When it is finished cooking, top it with okonomiyaki ○ sauce, mayonnaise, seaweed flakes, and bonito flakes.
