This trophy is a product made from Japanese lacquer(Urushi).
The number 1 is written in gold powder.
It is a Japanese wrapping cloth that wraps a trophy.
Designed by Heini Riitahuhta(Finnish). Made in Kyoto.
【About Urushi】
Urushi is sap from “Urushi Tree”.
Urushi is such a special and unique material that it is proof against water, sulfuric acid and
hydrochloric acid.
Urushi ware has been used as a completely natural laqucer for tableware, furniture,
architecture and others since long time ago, because of it’s durability.
Urushi has it’s own unique texture and gloss. We wish you could feel the beauty and the
power of the blessings of nature in this trophy.
【About Artist】
Mr.Tomoya Murose
Tomoya was born in Tokyo, 1982.
He is the third generation in a family of urushi artists.
He learned the foundations of urushi-ware making technique for three years at the studio of
master craftsman Kunie Komori, and He is currently working in Tokyo as both an artist and
as a conservator of Japanese cultural property.
今回の優勝トロフィーは漆製で、ナンバー１の部分は金粉で蒔絵されています。
ラッピングはアラビアのアーティスト（Heini Riitahuhta）デザイン、京都で作られた風呂
敷です。
【漆について】
漆は、「ウルシノキ」という木から採取される樹液です。
漆は一度固まると、水につけても腐らず、硫酸・塩酸をかけても溶けない、とても特殊な
素材です。非常に硬く固まる性質から、完全無害の天然塗料として、食器、家具、建築物
に至るまで、太古から日本人の生活の中で利用されてきました。
漆は、他の素材にはない、独特の艶と肌触りをもっています。その自然の恵みの魅力、美
しさを、このトロフィーで感じていただければと思います。
【製作者について】
室瀬智弥（むろせともや）
1982 年東京うまれ。祖父・父に続く 3 代目。
大学卒業後、輪島漆芸技術研修所、及び輪島・小森邦衞工房にて 3 年間漆芸の基礎を学び、
現在は東京・目白漆芸文化財研究所に勤務。作品制作と文化財修理の仕事を手がけている。
