1.
Rationale
論拠
1.1
KIPS has a strict dress code which all students must follow at all times, including while traveling to
and from school. The code, which covers uniforms, clothing and general appearance, has been
established to encourage respect, responsibility and safety amongst our students.
K.インターナショナルプリスクールには全生徒が登下校時を含み常時従わなくてはならない厳格な服装規定がある。このドレスコード
は、制服、服装と一般的な外見を規定しており、生徒たちの尊敬、責任、安全を促進するように制定された。
1.2
In general, Japanese society judges the quality of a school by the way its students look and behaves.
In recognition of this characteristic of our host country, all students at KIPS are required to wear the
correct school uniform and maintain a conservative appearance with no extremes of fashion
throughout their enrollment.
一般的に日本社会では学校の質を生徒の外見や行動からも判断する。ホスト国日本のこの特性を考慮し、KIPS の全生徒は入学時か
ら学校の制服を正しく着用し、控え目な外見を維持し、極端な服装をしないように求められる。
1.3
As a school, we believe that the school uniform, when worn correctly:
学校として、私たちは制服を正しく着用することを以下のように考える。
a)
is an important tool for promoting the image of the school in the community;
地域社会に学校のイメージを向上させるための重要な手段である。
b)
acts as a means for developing school pride as well as a sense of belonging and cooperation
between students;
学校を誇りに思う気持を促進させるとともに、生徒に帰属意識と協調性を育む手段となる。
c)
takes the focus away from fashion and allows students to concentrate on their academic
responsibilities.
ファッションに気を取られることなく、生徒が学業に専念することが出来る。
d)
assists school community members identify KIPS students during off-campus activities.
校外でアクティビティを行う時、学校関係者が KIPS の生徒を識別しやすくする。
2.
Purchasing uniform items
制服の購入
2.1
Prices and sizes of uniform items available from the school are indicated on the School Uniform
Order Form). Items may be ordered by submitting the form together with payment in cash to the
main office. Payment by bank transfer is also possible; however, such orders will only be processed
after payment has been confirmed. Credit card payments are not accepted. Orders for items not in
stock may take several weeks to arrive so orders should be placed in advance.
学校で購入可能な制服品目の値段とサイズは注文用紙(School Uniform Order Form)に表示されている。支払いは注文時に現金で
行う。銀行振り込みも可能だが、支払いが確認された後に商品は発注される。クレジットカードでの支払いは不可。在庫がない場合は
納品まで数週間かかることがあることを考慮して注文すること。
2.2
For safety reasons, the wearing of uniforms two sizes larger than a student’s actual size is not
permitted. Special orders for tailor-made items may be accepted for sizes not usually stocked by the
school. Additional charges apply for special orders.
安全上の理由から、適応サイズより 2 サイズ以上大きな制服の着用は禁止。学校で製作していないサイズは、テイラーメイドの特別注
文が可能。特別注文の場合追加の費用が発生する。

a) Shoes 靴
All students must wear plain black leather shoes or black sneakers with black soles. Minimal motifs or
decorative patterns are permitted; however, these should not be bright or glittery. Shoelaces must also be
black; colored shoelaces are not permitted.
黒い革靴あるいは黒のスニーカーを着用する。多少の飾りやライン等は可、ただし蛍光色やラメ等、派手な色は不可。靴底および靴ひもも黒
色、他の色は不可。
Indoor shoes (K2 – K3) 上履き(K2-K3)
In addition to black leather shoes or black sneakers for use outdoors and in the kindergarten playground,
students in K2 and K3 are required to change into indoor shoes for use within the school buildings. White
sneakers with minimal patterns (some lines are acceptable) are preferred. Colored shoelaces are not
permitted. If desired, traditional Japanese indoor school shoes (slip-on type) may be worn.
校舎内に入るときは上履きに履き替える。屋内の体育の授業でも使用できるようなシンプルな白のスニーカー（多少のライン入りは可）が望ま
しい。日本の学校で使用されているスリップオンタイプの靴（バレーシューズ）を使用しても良いが、運動には適さないため、その場合は屋内
体育用の白のスニーカーが別途必要
b) Socks ソックス
Must be regular length or knee high that is plain black with no motifs or decoration. Ankle socks are not
permitted. Black socks must also be worn with the PE uniform. Girls may wear black tights in winter.
通常の長さ、あるいはハイソックス。模様や飾りのない黒色のもの。足首までのソックス(スニーカーソックス)は不可。体育でも黒いソックスを
着用のこと。女子は冬期間、黒のタイツ着用可
c) Cooking apron, Art shirt/smock クッキングエプロン、アート用シャツ／スモック
Must be large enough to fully cover the uniform. Nursery to K3 students who wish to wear a smock all day
to protect their uniform should purchase the correct KIPS smock. The smock should not be worn while
travelling to and from school.
ユニフォームを完全にカバーする大きさであること。Nursery～K3 生徒は KIPS スモックであれば通学時を除き終日着用可能。登下校は着用
不可
d) Winter wear 冬用小物
During winter, all accessories such as scarves, knitted hats and gloves must be plain black with no
stripes, patterns or brand names visible.冬季はマフラー、ニット帽、手袋の使用が許可されるが、必ず黒色無地で、柄、飾りやブ
ランド名が見えるものは不可。

Uniform for school events
学校行事の服装
The correct formal uniform must be worn to events such as school ceremonies and formal events (e.g.
promotions/graduations, exhibitions, parent/teacher/student interviews, student-led conferences etc.) and
on any other occasions as announced separately by the school.
学校の式典や行事（卒業式/進級式、エキシビション、生徒/教員/生徒三者面談、生徒主導型面談会など）、その他、都度学校が通知した場合
には、正規の制服を着用すること。
5.
General appearance
身だしなみ規定
General appearance, in particular, uniform and hair style, must be clean, neat and tidy in order to uphold
the image of the school in the community. Spot-checks of students’ clothing and general appearance will be
conducted from time to time to ensure that the school dress code is being followed correctly. The following
are prohibited:
地域社会における学校のイメージを維持するためにも、身だしなみ、特に服装やヘアースタイルは清潔できちんとしなければならない。学校は、
生徒が学校の服装規定を守っているかどうかの検査を不定期に実施する。以下のことは禁止。

For both girls and boys, hair that is longer than collar length
must be tied away from the face and up at the back in a
ponytail, pig tails or plaits with a plain black or navy blue
hair tie, ribbon, hair pin or thin hair band. No other hair
accessories are permitted.
男女とも襟より長く伸ばした髪は、黒か紺の柄や飾りのないゴムやリボン、ヘア
ーピンまたは細いヘアバンドでポニーテール、ピッグテールまたは三つ編みに
して、顔に髪の毛がかからないようにする。他のヘアアクセサリーは禁止。
c)
Jewelry and accessories (including earrings and earring posts)
ジュエリー、アクセサリー類（イヤリング、イヤリングポストを含む）
This includes any items worn for religious reasons. A small watch is acceptable.
宗教上の理由があっても不可。小さな腕時計は可。
d)
Decorated fingernails and nail extensions
爪の装飾、つけ爪
Nails should be short, clean and free from polish (both colored and clear) or decoration. Gel nails are
not permitted.
爪はつねに短く切り、清潔に保つこと。ネイルカラーやデコレーションは禁止。
e)
Overly short or long skirts, shorts and trousers
過度に短い、あるいは長いスカート、半ズボン、ズボン
The hems of skirts and shorts must be no longer or shorter than the space between the top and
bottom of the kneecaps. Trousers must reach the ankles.
スカート、半ズボンの裾は膝頭の上と下の間とすること。ズボンは足首以下までの長さであること。

Sagging trousers worn below the waist

Trousers must be worn above the waist and hips. A plain black leather belt of a simple design must be
worn with trousers. Shirts must be tucked into trousers at all times. Trouser legs should not be rolled
up.
ズボンはきちんとウエストの位置で黒革でシンプルなベルトを締めて履くこと。シャツの裾は常にズボンの中にいれること。長ズボンの裾
は巻き上げてはいけない。
g)
Colored t-shirts or those with patterns or designs worn underneath the KIPS shirt or blouse
KIPS のシャツ、ブラウスの下に色つきの T シャツ、模様あるいはデザインのある T シャツの着用は禁止。
Only plain white t-shirts are permitted.
白無地の T シャツは可。
h)
Wearing hats or other headwear indoors (in principle)
屋内における帽子などの着用（原則として）は禁止
6.
Free dress days
フリードレスデー
6.1
On various occasions during the year, students are encouraged to participate in free dress days. All
students who choose to wear free dress on these days are required to pay a small fee which is put
towards a specific fundraising activity or project or area of the school. The fee may vary depending
on the particular fundraising objectives.
様々な理由で、学校では年間を通じて、生徒にフリードレスデーへの参加を促している。私服で登校した生徒は規定の参加費を支払い、
そのお金は、特定の募金活動やプロジェクト、学校の一部エリアで必要な資金として充てられる。
6.2
A number of free dress days are scheduled during the year as indicated on the school calendar.
Separate notification is not distributed.
スクールカレンダーにフリードレスデーが計画されているが、このことについて改めてお知らせはしない。
6.3
All free dress days are for the whole school unless otherwise advised.
指示がない限り、フリードレスデーは全て学校全体が対象。
7.
Dress code for times when the uniform is not worn
制服を着用しない時の服装規約
7.1
On occasions when personal clothing is permitted to be worn (e.g. some excursions, school outings
or free dress days), clothes and general appearance must uphold the image of the school. The
regular dress code for general appearance must be followed in addition to the points below. Students
will be sent home if their clothing and general appearance do not meet the dress code requirements.
私服の着用が許可された場合（例：遠足、小旅行、フリードレスデーなど）、服装や外見は学校のイメージを損なわないものでなければ
ならない。下記に示す点に加え、一般的外見についての定められた服装規約に従わなくてはならない。服装や身だしなみが服装規約
に合致しない時は、生徒は帰宅するよう求められる。
a)
Sandals are not permitted.
サンダルは禁止。
b)
Clothing and general appearance should be conservative. Extremes of fashion such as overly
short skirts or shorts; trousers sagging below the waist; shirts open to reveal the chest or navel;
and the wearing of tank tops, camisoles and other sleeveless shirts are not permitted.
服装と一般的外見はコンサバティブでなければならない。短すぎるスカートあるいは短パン、ズボンの腰ばき、胸やへそを露わに
するようなシャツやシャツの着方、タンクトップ、キャミソール、袖なしシャツなど極端なファッションは禁止。
c)
Clothing with offensive words or pictures is not permitted.
過激な言葉や絵のついた服の着用は禁止。
d)
Hair must be worn as per the dress code. Long hair must be tied back.
髪の毛は服装規約に示す状態とする。長い髪は後ろで束ねる。

e)
Accessories and make-up are not permitted (as per the regular dress code).
アクセサリーや化粧は禁止。（定められた服装規約に従うこと）
8.
Infractions of the dress code
服装規約違反
8.1
Students found to be disregarding the school dress code are required to address the problem on the
spot where appropriate. For issues that are difficult to fix on the spot such as dyed hair, students are
required to rectify this as soon as they return home.
学校の服装規約に反していると判断された生徒は、その問題となっている点をその場で適切に処理することが求められる。髪を染めて
いるなどその場で対応することが難しい場合、生徒は家に帰り即座に直すことが求められる。
8.2
For some or repeated infractions of the school dress code, general reminders may be sent to
parents/guardians by e-mail via their school e-mail account which they are asked to acknowledge by
return e-mail.
学校の服装規約に反するある種の行為や違反の繰り返しには、生徒の保護者の学校メールアドレスに連絡が送られる。保護者はそ
の連絡を受け取った証として e メールで返信するよう求められる。
8.3
For continued infractions or in situations where improvements are not evident:
繰り返しの規約違反や改善の証が見られない場合、
a) Students may be sent home or parents asked to pick them up from school. Students will not be
permitted to return to school until they are able to follow the code.
生徒は家に戻されるか、保護者が生徒を学校に迎えに来るように求められる。服装規約に従うまで生徒は学校に来ることは出来
ない。
b) Further action may be taken as per the school behavior management policy.
学校の行動管理方針に従って、更なる処置が講じられる。
