• New Hiragana Character – あ (a) as in “ah”
There will be 1 or 2 new characters each week. Make a flashcard for each
character. Please write the English phonetics on the back. All flashcards should
be kept at home: 1) Say/read character
2) Practice writing on attached sheet
3) Watch stroke order. It may be helpful to practice writing in
the air using a finger.
火 (Tues)
• Aa Practice Worksheet (Penguin) – Complete both sides neatly!
• Number 1 Worksheet (ichi) – Trace and color neatly! On the bottom of the page,
color only the portions of the picture containing いち (ichi) = 1.
水 (Wed)
• New Vocabulary – Cut out each picture and make a flashcard for each word with
English phonetics on the back. Please keep all flashcards at home.

えんぴつ (empitsu) = pencil
おとこのこ (otokonoko) = boy
まる (maru) = circle
けしごむ (keshigomu) = eraser
おんなのこ (onnanoko) = girl

Kurihara-Sensei is the adjunct for Room 19 and Shinobu-Sensei is the adjunct for
Room 20. Our adjuncts are supported through ALLEM and are an integral part of our
class!
Please complete and return all official school forms if you haven’t done so.
If your child does not have a folder, please help him/her to select one.
Please prepare a healthy snack for your child each day. Also, please use reusable
containers whenever possible.
Please be sure which foods your child should eat for snack and for lunch.
We will be visiting the Book Fair this Tuesday, 9/11. If your child will purchase
books (optional) please send money in a sealed envelope with his/her name and room
number. Parent help would be greatly appreciated! If you are available, please join us
at the book fair at the following times:
Room 20: 9:40 ~ 10:10
Room 19: 2:15 ~ 2:45
This Wednesday, September 12th, 6:00-6:45pm – Back to School Night. This is
an evening for parents only. Please make every effort to attend!

栗原先生が、１９組のアジャンクト、しのぶ先生が、２０組のアジャンクトです。アジャン
クトの先生方は、ALLEMより援助されており、私たちのクラスに、必要不可欠な部分とな
っています。
まだ終わっていない方は、学校からの必要書類を、すべて書き終え、提出するようにしてく
ださい。
フォルダーをまだ用意されていない方は、お子さんに選ばせてあげて、学校に持たせるよう
にしてください。
毎日のおやつは、健康に気を配った食べ物を詰めるようにしてください。おやつの容器は、
できるだけ使い捨てのものでなく、何度も使えるものを使用してください。
今週水曜日（9月1２日）6：00∼6：45pmは、バック・トゥー・スクールナイトです。
これは、保護者のみの行事となります。是非ご参加くださるようお願いします！
