Later I decideed to go backk to school tto develop m myself more iin the hospiitality field, and took Tourism and Hospitality H A Administratioon. M My main duties were to help h new stu udents by airp port pick-upps, neighborhhood tours, aand various ttasks for the offfice. It was a pleasure to o be a help for f the studennts after havving all suppport myself. Moving to t different country c and try to study in different language is not an easy thing to do. You might encounter barrriers and obsstacles that break b you doown. But if yyou try hard and not givee up, you are able a to achiev ve so much more than you y could eveer imagine. Testimonial: 私がハンバーカレッジを選んだ理由の一つは、アカデミックを主とした英語プログラムがあったからです。English for Academic Purpose (EAP)では、カナダのカレッジで学ぶために必要な英語を集中して勉強することができました。８ヶ月間の間に、文法、会話はもちろん、卒業までには論文も書くことができるようになりました。これらは EAP 卒業後も大変役に立ちました。その後、引き続きハンバーカレッジにおいて Tourism Management を取り、カナダの観光学、予約システム、就職する上で必要になる様々な知識やスキルを身につけることができました。プログラム終了後、自分のホスピタリティー分野を広げようと思い、一度学校に戻り Tourism and Hospitality Administration を取りました。両プログラムでは、先生たちは皆、どちらの分野においても色々な実践経験があるため、それを基にした授業で、本物の知識を身につけることができました。その他、特別講師を招いた授業、小旅行、そしてプログラムの最後にはフルタイムのインターンシップがあり、私は Marlin Travel, Signature Vacations, マリオットホテルで働くことができました。このようなインターンシップは実際の会社で、働きながら学べるとても貴重な経験となりました。ハンバーカレッジには、International Office があり、留学生はいつでも利用することができます。困ったとき、助けが必要な時、話をするだけでも、いつでもスタッフがサポートしてくれます。留学生のための様々なイベントもあり、トロントだけでなくカナダを存分に体験できます。私は、勉強の傍らその International Office で International Ambassador として働いていました。主な仕事はオフィス内のアシストのほか、新しい留学生の空港出迎え、学校周辺の案内などです。自分自身が不安だらけでカナダに来たばかりだった時に受けたサポートを、今度は私から新しい学生に提供できる仕事は、とてもやりがいがあるものでした。自分とは違う国に来て、違う言葉で学ぶというのは簡単なことではありません。壁や障害にぶつかることも多々あります。でも、あきらめずに目標に向かってがんばることで、想像以上に達成できることがたくさんあります。私が Humber College で得た経験によって、私にもそれができるんだということを自分自身で確認することができたと思います。
