His topics are intercultural values and behaviours (cultural intelligence) in the global business environment, international relations, the shifts from west to east & north to south, as well as the global meetings- & hospitality-industries. He often focuses on the emerging markets in Africa, Arabia and Asia; and he particularly features China and Japan. Daniel’s cross-cultural competence is supported by his partnership with the British author and opinion Richard Lewis and his ‘Lewis Model’. Daniel writes regularly for various publications and often speaks to corporate communities, business schools and Universities. During his career, Daniel has been involved in the global meetings-, hospitality- and tourismindustries for four decades. Originally from Switzerland, he worked 13 years in total in England, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, and China. Until the mid-80s, he was engaged with Kuoni Travel, Switzerland Tourism and six years with the global tour-operator, Thomas Cook/Wagon-lits, in Tokyo, Japan. In 1987, he co-founded MCI in Geneva, today the leading international congress- & association-management agency group.
