The International Collaborative Programme of Graduate School of Science, Nagoya
University invites applicants to fill a full-time, non-tenure-track, Designated Assistant
Professor for research and teaching graduate courses on natural sciences related to her/him
expertise in the School of Science.
Our programme is interested in recruiting a scholar, of any nationality, with efficient
English language ability, proven research record, experience in and enthusiasm for teaching
and administrative abilities for the International Collaborative Programme in School of
Science as a Joint Degree Programme with foreign Universities. This programme, which
exchanges graduate students between Nagoya University and the University of Edinburgh,
UK, offers the opportunity for graduate students to take coursework in English at Nagoya
University. It aims to foster excellent future researchers in natural sciences. The successful
candidate will have duties in administration and student support, as well as teaching courses
within the Programme. As a full-time faculty, she/he will be expected to provide academic
advising for students and perform the normal duties associated with education. She/he will
be able to participate in research activities in one of the research groups in Graduate School
of Science at her/his desire.
名古屋大学国際連携理学専攻
名古屋大学大学院理学研究科国際連携理学専攻は、大学院において理学研究と教
育を行う、常勤任期付教員(特任講師または特任助教)を国籍によらず募集します。
本専攻は、職務遂行に十分な英語力を持ち、高い研究能力と教育経験があり、と
くに海外の大学院との Joint Degree Programme として専攻の運営に熱意ある研究者
を採用したいと考えています。このプログラムは名古屋大学と英国のエディンバ
ラ大学との間で大学院生を交換し、大学院生に対し英語で授業を受ける機会を提

供し、自然科学分野において研究能力を備えた優れた研究者の養成を両大学が共
同で行うことを目指しています。採用教員は、プログラムが提供する教育を行い、
常勤の教員として学生に履修指導を行い、その他の通常の教育業務に従事します。
採用教員は、希望すれば理学研究科の研究室で研究活動を行うことができます。

Minimum Qualifications
応募資格
1) Doctoral degree in Science or a related field with teaching experience
理学又は関係分野での博士号及び教育経験
2) Demonstrated ability to advise students at the undergraduate and graduate levels
学部及び大学院レベルの学生への指導能力
3) Willing to participate widely in the International Programs of the university including
but not limited to teaching courses to Japanese students and some administrative duties
日本人向けのコースでの授業担当や、大学運営業務などを含めて、大学の国際
プログラムに広く関わることを厭わないこと。

4) Strong inter-personal skills and evidence of effective interaction with students, faculty,
administration, and community
学生、教員、事務、地域との関係において、コミュニケーション能力があるこ
と。
5) English fluency to effectively teach or support courses on natural sciences related to
her/his field of expertise
専門分野に関連する自然科学の講義コースを英語で行える、もしくは支援する
能力があること。

The contract will be starting on the 1st May 2016, and terminating on the 31st March 2019.
採用期間 2016 年 5 月 1 日（予定）〜2019 年 3 月 31 日。
Salary: Salary will depend on qualifications and experience, based on Nagoya University’s
Salary Rules for Employees to whom the Annual Salary System applies. *Taxes and
insurances will be withheld from the annual salary.
給与:本学支給基準(年俸制適用職員給与規程)に基づき、経験年数及び能力に応じ
て決定する。税金、各種保険料は、年俸から差し引かれる。
