Most statistics contained in this yearbook are survey results in 2 012-2013,and are shown by prefectures and agricultural regions,or by sea regions. This yearbook consists of 19 parts. In each part,statistical items are arranged in appropriate order, and at the beginning of each part,explanation is given.Remarks for each table are given on each page. The sources of statistics are shown on the footnotes in order compiled agency and title of data. “Year”in this yearbook is used as calendar year. As for special years,namely fiscal year(from Apr.to Mar.next year),fertilizer year and sugar year,necessary notes are given in each table. Further, when used in each table; for calendar year, the numerals of the year only; fiscal year and for special years, the nature of the year will be indicated after the numerical year. In case annual figures are different from those of the previous year's publication, they are revised figures. Digits below the unit are rounded.Therefore,the total figures in the table are not necessarily equal to the totals of individual figures. Moreover, because of the relationships of roundedness for the statistical figures, there can be the case that the sum of consecutive comparative should not be a hundred percent. For area of cultivated land, shipping of production of crops, the number of housing of keeping domestic animals and capturing natural fishes, digits below the unit are rounded as following rounded system. However, for statistical figures which are rounded not in accord with the standard, the note should be put to the tables.
