Announcement of Donation
米国財団法人野口医学研究所創立者・名誉理事である浅野嘉久博士は、2014 年 12 月 8 日、米
国トーマス・ジェファーソン大学・副学長・医学部長代理チャールスＡ.ポール教授に対し、博
士個人として 100 万ドルの寄贈を致しました。この寄付金は、浅野博士のトーマス・ジェファ
ーソン大学終身名誉医学部長、ジョセフＳ.ゴネラ教授との永年の友情と尊敬への証として、感
謝を込めて為されたものです。また、ポール教授の、“医師へは医療技術だけでなく、徹底した
ヒューマニティの教育をすることこそが大切である”という理念に深く共鳴した結果として、実
現に至りました。

We are pleased to announce that the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Noguchi Medical Research Institute, Dr. Yoshihisa Asano, Ph.D.,
DPH, has endowed $1,000,000 to Dr. Charles A. Pohl, Associate Provost & Senior Associate Dean of Thomas Jefferson University, at an
event dinner on December 8, 2014. This personal donation was performed as a proven appreciation and honor to Dr. Joseph S. Gonnella,
whom Dr. Asano has been working with for over than 30 years. This significant funding will be used to support creating a program
focused on empathy and the humanities via faculty development and other methods.
