Freshly cut flowers, mint, crushed rocks and pears are some of the notes that take
shape as the 2010 Soave Classico opens up in the glass. The long, clean finish
leaves a lasting impression. This is a terrific wine for the money. Anticipated
maturity: 2012-2016.
Pra does so many things well its hard to know where to start. All five wines I tasted
were terrific. I can't think of too many wineries in Veneto that excel to this degree
with both whites and reds.

Annata 2011
Prà's 2011 Soave Classico Staforte is deep, powerful and
implosive. Here it is the wine's structure and pure power that
stand out most. The 2011 needs another year or two to open
up a bit, but it is undeniably beautiful. Lemon, grapefruit,
jasmine and mint notes leave a lasting impression.

Annata 2008
The 2008 Soave Classico Staforte is one of the more focused
wines in this line up. Smoke, minerals and flowers add complexity to a precise,

MONTEGRANDE Soave Classico DOC
-
Vinous (Antonio Galloni): 90p.
Annata 2011
A much softer and more textured side of Soave
comes through in the 2011 Soave Classico Monte
Grande. Here the aromas and flavors are all finelyknit, while the wine conveys an impression of
silkiness that stands in stark contrast to the pure
structure of the Staforte. Both wines are quite
beautiful and also remarkably different.

burning vine clippings joined by hints of espresso and kirsch. These flavors fall
effortlessly in a silky sheath over the supple tannins, which show on the firmer
finish. Drink now through 2027.
