Curriculum Vitae of Rossini Laura Photo Education 1992, B.Sc. IN BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, University of Milan (Italy). 1996, Ph.D. IN GENETICS, University of Milan. Professional experiences 1996-2000, POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER AT THE DEPARTMENT OF PLANT SCIENCES, UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD (UK) European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) long-term fellowship Fellowship from the Accademia Nazionale Dei Lincei (Rome). Since 2000, RESEARCH SCIENTIST in plant genetics (permanent position) at DiSAA, University of Milan. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR in Plant Genetics and Breeding, Plant Development and Biotechnology. Since 2008, she coordinates the Plant Genomics Section at Parco Tecnologico Padano (PTP, Lodi), where she is based with her research group as part of agreements between the University and PTP. Research fields LR has 22 years experience in crop genetics, genomics and molecular biology. In her present position, a major focus of her research has been on barley genetics and genomics as a basis for dissection of barley morphology and development. In this context, LR was leader of WP “Gene isolation and new allele discovery” in the EU FP7 project TriticeaeGenome and she participates in the EU FP7 project WHEALBI, where she is leading exome resequencing of a large collection of barley accessions. Recently her research on cereals expanded to sorghum with the French-Italian BIOSORG project, in which she is principal investigator for Italy. Over the past few years she also engaged in peach genomics research, participating in the International Peach Genome Initiative and the EU FP7 project FruitBreedomics. Research interests Plant genetics and genomics with special focus on developmental processes in monocot species and fruit quality traits in fruit trees. Regulatory mechanisms of gene expression. Evolution and functional analysis of multigene families. Comparative genomics.
