Dio infatti ha tanto amato il mondo da dare il suo Figlio unigenito, perché chiunque crede in lui non muoia, ma abbia la vita eterna. Dio non ha mandato il Figlio nel mondo per giudicare il mondo, ma perché il mondo si salvi per mezzo di lui. Chi crede in lui non è condannato; ma chi non crede è gia stato condannato, perché non ha creduto nel nome dell'unigenito Figlio di Dio. E il giudizio è questo: la luce è venuta nel mondo, ma gli uomini hanno preferito le tenebre alla luce, perché le loro opere erano malvagie. Chiunque infatti fa il male, odia la luce e non viene alla luce perché non siano svelate le sue opere. Ma chi opera la verità viene alla luce, perché appaia chiaramente che le sue opere sono state fatte in Dio. 1112 Il bambino ubbidisce, ma una folata di vento porta via la sabbia rimanente. "Anche così non riesco a tenerla!" La mamma, sempre sorridendo: "Adesso raccogline un altro po' e tienila nella mano aperta come se fosse un cucchiaio... abbastanza chiusa per custodirla e abbastanza aperta per la libertà." Il bambino riprova e la sabbia non sfugge dalla mano ed e protetta dal vento. "Ecco come far durare un amore..." CELEBRATIONS AND SOCIAL EVENTS: Saturday, March 21st from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Sunday, March 22nd from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm: Pasta Fest and Music. The menu consists of pasta and meatballs. During the meal there will be music. You can also help by providing gifts for a raffle. The event is a much needed fundraiser for the church. The tickets are only $10. Show your support for your church and please participate. Sunday, April 26: fundraising bake sale organised by a Loyola student group. There is much to do in our church in order to keep it operational and alive. We know that you care for your church. There are many ways that you could help support and participate in the upkeep and rejuvenation of our church; you could help financially and/or by giving of your time and talents. Together we can do so much. GOD BREWS THE COFFEE A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. The conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain-looking, some expensive, and some exquisite telling them to help themselves to the coffee. After all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. "Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases, it's just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups...and then began eyeing each other's cups. "Now consider this: Life is the coffee, and the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life, and the type of cup we have does not define nor change the quality of life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us."
