TRANSFIGURED BY DIVINE LOVE
The resurrection itself is
nowhere described in the
gospels, but we do have
appearances of the Risen
Lord Jesus. The first
appearance was to a woman,
Mary of Magdala. A title given
to her by the early church
was ‘Apostle to the Apostles’
because she was the bearer of the message
which the male disciples initially did not believe.
But eventually they too believed that Death had
been done to death because the Son had risen.
Christ’s body was transfigured by the energy of
Divine Love and we can, by grace, participate in
that resurrection life of Our Lord. A glorious
destiny awaits the whole cosmos as it is to be
transformed by that resurrection life, recreating
the whole of creation.
We could take a moment to pray that we, along
with all that matters, are graced with the lifegiving energy of the Risen Son and that we may
join Mary of Magdala in spreading the Good
News of Christ’s victory over death. Alleluia! –

THE LIGHT OF CHRIST
In the Icon of the
Transfiguration, which is
being featured on our
altar for the whole of the
Lent/Easter season, we
see Jesus on a high
mountain, radiant with
divine light, as he is
transfigured before his
frightened disciples. Here
the disciples are given a
glimpse of the glory of the resurrection – and it
is too much for them! They fall backwards,
overcome with awe and barely able to look at
the radiance of Christ. Here is a mystery too
great for our understanding and yet we believe
the radiant glory of the risen Christ is still with
us today. As we light our Easter candles we are
reminded of his radiant spirit amongst us and
within us
A SINCERE THANK YOU!
Our sincere thanks go to all who have, in
various ways, helped us to journey through the
Season of Lent and the Easter Triduum, and
helped us to reflect on this year’s Lent/Easter
theme, ‘Mountain, Metaphor and Mystery’. Thanks
to those who helped prepare the liturgies, the
wonderful music, the décor of the churches.
Thanks to those who have helped with the Holy
Week and Triduum ceremonies; those who
cleaned the churches in preparation for Easter;
those who prepared the flowers; and a special
thanks to all those who participated in the many
liturgical roles such the foot-washing, or as
lectors, choir members, Communion ministers,
altar servers, cross bearers …
you have brought great life to our celebration of
this high point of the liturgical year!
WELCOME MIMOZA!
At the Easter Vigil this weekend, Mimoza
Keshteja will be fully initiated
into the Catholic Church with
the Sacraments of Baptism,
Confirmation and Eucharist.
This is a joyful and wonderful
moment in her life and we
welcome her warmly into the Catholic Church
Community.
DRINKS AFTER THE VIGIL
Following the Easter Vigil there will be drinks
and a supper in Our Lady’s Parish House. Let us
share the joy of Easter together and personally
welcome Mimoza into our community. All are
welcome!
THE EASTER SEASON AHEAD
From the Easter Triduum that we have
celebrated over these past three days,
we now move into the glorious Season
of Easter — a 50-day season that
concludes on Pentecost Sunday on 24
May. It is a season during which we
deepen our faith in Christ risen. It is a
time to renew our baptismal faith, as we
are sprinkled with the baptismal water
during the Sundays of Easter, and it is a
time to recommit ourselves to living the
Gospel more fully. Easter is the song in
our hearts that cannot stay silent!
EASTER WATER
After the Easter Sunday Masses and
during the Easter season, those who wish
to take home some of the blessed Easter
water are invited to bring a small bottle
and take some of the water.
PROJECT COMPASSION BOXES
If you have brought your Project Compassion box
today, please place it on the collection plate.
Otherwise, bring it next Sunday and put it in the
Project Compassion collection box on the
sanctuary near the lectern. Thank you for your
generous Lenten contributions to the work of
Caritas Australia.
WEEKDAY MASSES
Please note that there will be no 10.00am Mass
at St Ambrose’s this Tuesday or Wednesday.
There will be a Communion Service on both
days.
EASTER RAFFLE – DID YOU WIN?
The lucky tickets for the parish Easter raffle are:
1. First prize ticket BLUE–C 010 for an
Easter hamper worth $150 has not yet been
claimed. Please check your tickets. You
might have won it!
2. Second prize of an Easter hamper was
won by Yvette Pascal from Our Lady’s.
A HOLIDAY FOR SR JULITA
Sr Julita leaves this week for her
home country of Brazil where she
will have a two-month holiday with
her family. We wish her every
blessing, and hope she has a good
rest and a wonderful time with her
family. Bon voyage Sr Julita!
We will see you in June.
FR VINH WOULD LIKE TO VISIT
Fr Vinh would like to visit parishioners in their
homes. If you would like a visit, please give him
or Fr Michael your address and phone number
after Mass.
RESULT OF APPEAL FOR THE PACIFIC
Our recent appeal to support the crisis in
Vanuatu and neighbouring countries raised
$1267.30. A great effort! This money has been
forwarded to Caritas who are working in the
region affected by the hurricane.
CAN YOU HOST A SMALL GROUP MEAL?
After Easter we will be
resuming the ‘Meals in
Small Groups’ initiative.
These small gatherings of
6 to 8 people provide the
opportunity for parishioners to get to know one
another a little better, and simply to enjoy each
others’ company. At present we are looking for
people who would be willing to host a meal,
from about 7.00pm, on one of the following
evenings:
• Saturday 9 May
• Saturday 16 May
• Saturday 23 May
Parishioners, you are invited to keep one of
those dates free if you’d like to share a meal in a
small group. After Easter, there will be further
information about the venues.
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
During the Easter Season there
will be a series of three evenings
exploring faith and Scripture. On
Wednesday 22 April, theologian
Fr Kevin Lenehan will be speaking
on the spirituality of Dietrich Bonhoeffer; and
Scripture scholar Br Rod Doyle will be giving an
introduction to the four Gospels on
Wednesdays 6 and 13 May. These gatherings
will be a 7.30pm in St Ambrose’s Community
Centre. More details after Easter.

PAGINA IN ITALIANO
LA LUCE DI CRISTO
L'icona della Trasfigurazione, che è
presenti sul nostro altare per tutto il
tempo di Quaresima/Pasqua, vediamo
Gesù su una montagna, raggiante di luce
divina, come egli si trasfigura davanti suoi
disceppoli spaventati. Qui i discepoli
hanno avuto un assaggio della gloria della
Resurrezione – ed è troppo per loro!
Cadono all'indietro, presi di spaventi e
appena in grado di guardare la radiosità di Cristo. Qui è
un mistero troppo grande per la nostra comprensione
però crediamo che la Gloria radiante del Cristo risorto è
ancora con noi oggi. Come accendiamo le nostre candele
di Pasqua ci ricordiamo del suo spirito radiante tra noi e
dentro di noi.
UN SINCERO GRAZIE!
Il nostro sincero ringraziamento va a tutti coloro che, in
vari modi, ci hanno aiutato nella caminata attraverso il
tempo di Quaresima e il Triduo Pasquale, e ci hanno
aiutato a riflettere sul tema di Quaresima/Pasqua di
quest'anno, ‘Montagna, metafora e mistero'. Grazie a chi ha
contribuito a preparare le liturgie, la musica meravigliosa,
Preparazione delle Chiese. Grazie a coloro che hanno
contribuito con le cerimonie della settimana Santa e
Triduo; Chi ha pulito le Chiese in preparazione alla
Pasqua; coloro che hanno preparato i fiori; e un
ringraziamento a tutti coloro che hanno partecipato in
molti ruoli liturgici come lavanda dei piedi, il coro, ministri
della comunione, lettori, chierichetti, portatori della
croce… avete portato vita alle nostre celebrazione nel
punto più alto dell'anno liturgico!
BENVENUTA MIMOZA!
Nella veglia pasquale questo fine settimana,
Mimoza Keshteja verrà introdotta nella
Chiesa Cattolica con i Sacramenti del Battesimo, Cresima
e l'Eucaristia. Questo è un momento gioioso e
meraviglioso nella sua vita e l’accogliamo calorosamente
nella comunità della Chiesa Cattolica.
BEVANDE DOPO LA VEGLIA
Dopo la veglia di Pasqua ci sarà un spuntino e bevande
nella casa parrocchiale di Santa Maria. Per insieme
condividere la gioia della Pasqua. Tutti sono Benvenuti!
TEMPO PASQUALE
Dal Triduo Pasquale che abbiamo celebrato in questi
ultimi tre giorni, ora ci muoviamo verso il glorioso tempo
Pasquale — un tempo di 50 giorni che si conclude il
giorno della Domenica di Pentecoste il 24 Maggio. È un
tempo durante la quale approfondiamo la nostra fede in
Cristo risuscitato. È un momento di rinnovare la nostra
fede battesimale, come noi siamo asparsi con l'acqua
battesimale durante le Domeniche di Pasqua. È un tempo
per compromettere noi stessi per vivere più pienamente
il Vangelo. Pasqua è la canzone nei nostri cuori che non
può rimanere in silenzio!
ACQUA PASQUALE
Dopo le Messe della Domenica di Pasqua e
durante il tempo Pasquale, chi vuole prendere e
portare a casa acqua santa sono invitati a portare
una piccola bottiglia e prendi un po' di acqua santa.
PROGETTO COMPASSIONE
Se avete portato le scatole progetto compassione oggi,
metterlo sul piatto di raccolta. In caso contrario, portarlo
Domenica prossima e metterlo nella scatola di raccolta
progetto compassione nel santuario vicino il leggio.
MESSE FERIALE
Si prega di notare che non ci sarà la Messa delle ore 10.00
a Sant'Ambrogio questo Martedì o Mercoledì. Ci sarà un
servizio di Comunione in entrambi i giorni.
LOTTERIA DI PASQUA – AI VINTO?
I fortunati biglietti per la lotteria di Pasqua della
parrocchia sono:

Pasqua nel valore di $150 non è ancora stato preso.

VACANZA PER SR JULITA
Sr Julita lascia questa settimana per il suo
paese d'origine del Brasile, dove lei avrà
una vacanza di due mesi con la sua famiglia.
Vogliamo augurarle ogni benedizione e
speriamo che lei ha un buon riposo e un
tempo meraviglioso con la sua famiglia. Bon voyage Sr
Julita! Ci vedremo a Giugno.
FR VINH PIACEREBBE VISITARVI
Fr Vinh Nguyen, nostro sacerdote assistente, vorrebe
visitare i parrocchiani nelle loro case. Se vuoi una visita, si
prega di dargli l'indirizzo e numero di telefono dopo la
Messa.
RISULTATO DELL'APPELLO PER VANUATU
Nostro recente appello per sostenere la crisi nei paesi di
Vanuatu e Vicinato è stato sollevato $1267,30. Un grande
risultato! Questo denaro è stato donato alla Caritas che
lavorano nella regione colpita dall'uragano.
PREGHIERA PARROCCHIALE PER APRILE
Preghiamo per tutti coloro che sono privati dei loro
diritti umani. Possiamo trattare tutte le persone con
giustizia, dignità e rispetto.
