- Een liefhebber van de muur MUUS is een ode aan de muur. De muur is in meerdere opzichten een belangrijke vormgever van onze leefomgeving. In al zijn
stoerheid draagt de muur letterlijk het dak boven ons hoofd. Maar hij is ook de stille sfeermaker op de achtergrond waarop
we onszelf etaleren. We vervormen, kleuren en behangen hem met schilderijen, jagers trofeeën en wat niet meer. Zonder te
morren verzamelt de muur door de jaren heen steeds meer de sporen van ons dagelijks gebruik.
MUUS is het alternatief voor het plamuurmes dat gebruikerssporen doet verdwijnen alsof deze er niet toe doen. Als een
sieraad markeert MUUS juist die plek waar ooit iets hing. In plaats van te plamuren wordt het gat nu juist als uitgangspunt
genomen voor verfraaiing van de muur.
De eerste MUUS-serie bestaat uit drie figuren die ieder dankbaar gebruik maken van die ene plek waar de schroef in de muur
bevestigd zat. De figuren ‘balans’, ‘schommel’ en ‘sprong’ zijn gemaakt van verkoperd staal en gelaserd met een microlaser.
Ze worden ieder geleverd met schroef, afstandshouder en plug.
- A lover of walls MUUS is an ode to the wall. In many ways the wall is an important shaper of our living environment. It bravely carries the roof above our heads. But it also quietly creates the blank canvas on which we project our personalities. We
transform, colour and decorate it with paintings, hunting trophies and what not. Without any complaint the wall collects
all kinds of traces of our daily use through time.
MUUS is the alternative to the putty knife that effaces user traces from the past, as if they were without significance.
Like a piece of wearable jewelry MUUS accentuates that spot where once something hung. Instead of filling up these
holes with putty it becomes the starting point for the embellishment of the wall.
The first series of MUUS consists of three figures that gratefully adorn the locations where screws were put into a
wall. The figurines ‘balance’, ‘swing’ and ‘jump’ are micro-lasered out of copper plated steel. They come with a screw,
a plug and a spacer.
