Ergonomie richtlijnen voor het
ontwerp van camerasystemen
CCTV is overal
Camerabeelden worden intensief gebruikt in verkeerscentrales, voor het bewaken
van tunnels, bediening op afstand van technische installaties, het bewaken van
stations, gebouwen en terreinen, gecontroleerde toegangsverlening, enz. Maar
ook vinden we tal van toepassingen in bijvoorbeeld de gezondheidszorg, of ten
behoeve van communicatie (tele-medicine, tele-conferencing).
CCTV-systeem
Een CCTV systeem is een mens-machine systeem, bestaande uit een waargenomen werkelijkheid, camera's, data overdracht, beeldschermen, beelden,
werkplekken en menselijke informatieverwerking. Er is behoefte aan praktische
ergonomie richtlijnen, die antwoord geven op vragen zoals:
 Hoe veel camerabeelden kan een operator aan ?
 Hoe bepaal je de waargenomen beeldkwaliteit ?
 Wat is een goed ontwerp voor een CCTV-operator werkplek ?
 Hebben we een videowall nodig voor videobeelden ?
 Hoe kies je een camera, lens, en positie van de camera in het veld.
Human Factors & CCTV Workshop

Background
In 2012, three Human Factors Consultancy companies in the Netherlands
experienced independently a lack of human factors knowledge and guidelines,
when working on several types of CCTV control center design projects.
Supported by HAN University of Applied Sciences and 13 funding organizations,
an action research project was started. The project goal was to develop HF
Guidelines for CCTV control centers. Mid 2013, draft guidelines became
available for testing by the funding organizations.
We are now happy to share our knowledge from an extensive literature search,
10 case studies and several laboratory experiments. Though technology
develops rapidly, we are convinced to be able to present the state-of-the-art
regarding Human Factors requirements for CCTV systems. This Workshop
includes our Draft Guidelines document. We use the term "Draft", because there
are still some blind spots in our knowledge or hardly evidenced guidelines.
Therefore, it is also our aim to use the revenues of the Workshops, for future
research efforts.
This workshop will not address privacy aspects or other legal matters.

Registration
The first scheduled Workshop is planned on 8th October in Enschede
(Netherlands). We would like to start early, and therefore invite you to travel to
Enschede on the evening before the Workshop. Our venue will be at Prismare,
Roombeek, a newly build part of Enschede (after the fireworks disaster).
Registration fee will be € 770,-- (plus VAT) including Hotel reservation or € 700,-(plus VAT) without Hotel reservation. Registration includes a copy of the research
reports, draft guidelines, coffee/tea and lunch.
