Functie-inhoud
You will be working on both internal- and European research projects. Your main focus will be on:


Contribute to the development of the KNMIData Centre(data.knmi.nl)
Contribute to the development of KNMIsoftware frameworks (e.g., adaguc.knmi.nl)
The platforms have Linux based operating systems. The components to be developed will be mostly
based on open source technologies. As you will be working in a research environment, you are
expected to spend time on IT research and keep your knowledge up-to-date besides the projects you
are working on.
Department R&D Observations and Datatechnology
The Department R&D Observations and en Data Technology is responsible for R&D in Observations,
Sensor Technology and Data Technology. The department has expert knowledge of sensor technology,
observation infrastructures and development of systems dealing with data collection, preservation,
processing, distribution and visualisation.
Functie-eisen
You have an academic or master degree in Computer Science. You are capable of communicating
fluently in English, both oral and in writing.
You have proven experience in the following:







Java (must)
Javascript(must)
Python
Databases like MySQL, Postgresql, MongoDB
Code revision management systems
Unified Modelling Language
Unit testing
Knowledge of Linux, C/C++ and data handling technologies like OCG services, Numpy, Globus toolkit,
NetCDF, etc., are highly recommended.
