We advise you to take the train to Leiden. If you arrive at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, the train trip
to Leiden would take only 20 minutes. Please check the train journey planner for the times and
platform information. Make sure the destination is ‘Leiden Centraal’.
You can buy your train ticket online or at a ticket machine.
From the Leiden Centraal train station it is just a 10 minute walk to the museum. Leave the station at
the “centrum”-side. Walk straight on to the Beestenmarkt. Turn left. Walk along the water (Oude
Singel), just after you passed Museum De Lakenhal you cross the water. Follow the street (Lange
Lijsbethsteeg). At the end you follow the curve to the left, continue following this street. On your left
you will find Museum Boerhaave. Click here for the map. You could also take the bus from Leiden
Centraal, plan your journey here.
It is also possible to take a cab from Amsterdam Airport, although this is a very expensive option.

By Car
Since the museum is located in the center of Leiden it could be hard to find a place to park near the
museum. Here you can view a map of all the parking possibilities in Leiden. You could try car park
“Molen de Valk” (€2,60 per hour/ €12,80 for a day card) for instance. It is also possible to park at car
park “Haagweg” (€12,00 for a day card), from here free shuttle busses will bring you to the museum.
