SEII European Society for Engineers and Industrialists International Colloquium on Information and Communications Technologies ( ICTs ) Brussels – 19th November 2014 – Palace of the Academies This colloquium is organized by the European Society for Engineers and Industrialists ( SEII ), in partnership with the ICT Department of AGORIA ( Federation for the Belgian Technology Industry ). Breakthrough in ICTs : challenges in healthcare, security, management, education and ethics The lightning development of ICTs is going to deeply modify our private and professional life : education & learning, communication means, economy and management, laws and abuses, business and employment, healthcare, shopping, banking, social networking, security and respect of privacy ... There will be three levels of impacts : direct impacts ( technology ), enabling impacts ( applications ) and systemic impacts ( change in behaviours ). This is why SEII, after having successively tackled the questions of nanotechnologies, of biotechnologies and of energy ( through shale gas ) in their previous annual colloquia, have decided to dedicate their next colloquium to that subject. Of course, in one day, only some of the aspects of that upheaval will be considered, but this colloquium will present some solutions and tracks of how Europe in general, and Belgium in particular, is going to cope with this incredible revolution. It will be held in English. Please find the programme on next page, together with the necessary practical information about the venue and the registration terms. 19th November 2014 For SEII : For AGORIA : Philippe WAUTERS President Baudouin CORLÙY Director of the ICT Department International Colloquium on ICTs Page 1 Programme 08 h 30 Registration of participants 09 h 10 Welcome address, by Philippe WAUTERS, President of SEII, and Baudouin CORLÙY, Director of the ICT Department of AGORIA.
