II INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM MYCOSILVICULTURE AND VALORISATION OF MYCOLOGICAL RESOURCES This seminar in Montpellier capitalises on the results of two international cooperation projects (INTERREG IVB SUDOE) whose objective is the integration of mycological resources in forestry management and their socio-economic valorisation in rural areas. Mushroom communities play an important role in ecosystems, in particular in the current context of climate change. On the other hand the economic potential of wild mushrooms is very significant and they are a proven source of innovation in food, cuisine and rural tourism to mention but a few. LOCATION Agropolis, Montpellier (France) 1000 Avenida Agropolis. 34394 Montpellier Numerous institutions in the technical-scientific field and rural developers have cooperated since 2008 to share their knowledge, in an attempt to respond to the needs of the sector and transfer successful examples between the different territories of Europe, but also collaborating with other countries such as Canada and Mexico among others. The first part of the meeting will focus on presenting the results of these first two projects (Micosylva and Micosylva+). The second half will present ideas contemplated for future projects and potential interested partners, with the aim of stimulating the local economy by linking rural and urban areas through mycological resources and multifunctional woodland.
