TOURIST ACTIVITIES AND VISITS
THE LIGHTHOUSE. It is the highest lighthouse in Spain, standing 69 meters high and has
322 steps. Price: 5€ (Under 7 years: free). Depending on availability. Call beforehand. The
Tourist Office reserves the right to change this visits. August: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
and Saturday (11:00, 11:45, 18:45 y 19:30). September: Thursday and Saturday ( 11:00,

GUIDED TOURS TO FISHING “CORRALES”: The fishing corrales are an ancient fishing
system, whose origins are attributed to the Romans by some historians, but they could be even
older and are still in use. Guided visits: call beforehand. Free. Depending on availability. The

THE SANCTUARY OUR LADY OF REGLA. Started as a fortress for the “Ponce de León”
family and later Augustinian Monastery. Now run by the Franciscan Order. (Costa de la Luz
Promenade, Phone. 956 37 01 89). Visiting hours: 08.00 to 12.00 and 17.00 to 20.30. Mass
time: Monday to Friday: 08:00, 10:00 and 20:00. Saturdays: 07:30, 10:00, 20:00 and 21:00.

THE PARISH CHURCH “OUR LADY OF THE O”. Built in 1579 in the Gothic style and
partly modified in the XVIIIth Century under the influence of the Baroque and Neoclassic style.

THE CHAPEL “CHIRST OF MERCY”. Juan Carlos I Square. The Christ of Mercy is
credited with the miracle that saved the town for flooding caused by the Lisbon earthquake in
1755. Visiting hours: Monday to Friday: 08:00-14:30, Saturday: 10:30-14:30, Sunday:
10:00-13:00. Evenings: 19:00-21:00 (Monday to Sunday)

THE CASTLE - INTERPRETATION CENTRE “CADIZ AND THE NEW WORLD”.
Centre dedicated to the relationship of the province of Cadiz with the discovery and
colonization of America. Visiting hours: Tuesday to Sunday and festivities: 10:00 - 14:00.
The last visit will take place 45 min. before closing. Prices: General: 2€. Reduced: 1€ (under 14
