The answer is “no” if you add the entrepreneurial spirit of a Hispanic businessman, the Empanada Guy, aka Carlos Serrano. It all began at lunch, remembered Serrano, “I was sharing my left-over empanadas with my boss, and he said something that changed my life. He said, ‘If you sold these in the suburbs, you would make a killing.’ And so my journey began. I decided to bring a Spanish product to the suburbs. My goal is to compete with pizzas, burgers and tacos, in other words to make it a mainstream food.” Although not a trained chef, Serrano brings a passion for cooking and an ability to be resourceful. “What I’ve done with this empanada insanity is created a system of making a complicated product in a timely manner with high quality taste,” he explained. “That led me to creating a state-of-the-art food truck specializing in empanadas. The Empanada Guy Food Truck has given me a chance to do exactly what I set out to do, bring my product to the people. It brings me great joy to interact with my custom- Read the full story in our Summer 2015 issue. QR codes give readers easy access to enjoy the articles in the language of their choice. In the past, the MetLife Stadium has hosted many friendly soccer matches. Back in 2012, the MetLife hosted one unforgettable soccer match between Brazil and Argentina. 81,994 soccer fans watched Argentina defeat Brazil 4-3. Soccer star Lionel Messi scored the defeating goal vs Brazil with a hat trick, and Neymar scored two out of three goals for Brazil. The CONCACAF (Central America and the Caribbean Association Football) is held once every two years, and the top twelve nations from the regions will be facing each other for the Gold Cup title. • Editorial content will be available in Spanish and English, both in print and online.
