ネーパル：地震緊急支援
【ジャパンプラットフォームの助成事業】
ネパール地震緊急支援
2015 年 4 月 25 日にネパールで発生した巨大地震は、8,000 人以上の死
者や住宅の倒壊等の甚大な被害を及ぼしました。SEEDS は、この地震に
被災された方に対して緊急支援を実施しています。

ネパールで初動調査及び緊急物資配布を行ったスタッフにより、6 月 1 日

SEEDS では、地震発生直後より、迅速に人道支援の必要性について検
討を行い、緊急支援の実施を決定し、ネパールのパートナー団体である
NSET（National Society for Earthquake Technology - Nepal）と連絡
を取り、情報収集と現地派遣の準備を行いました。4 月 29 日に、インド
より SEEDS スタッフがネパールに入り、現地での活動を開始しています。
シェルター /NFI クラスターの情報によると、カトマンズ周辺は地震の被
害が甚大で、住まいや生活物資に関する緊急的なニーズに対して支援が不
足していることから、現地調査により、シェルターや生活物資に関する支
援状況や、支援実施に当たっての交通、通信、治安、物資調達方法等につ
いて把握するとともに、現地行政や NGO 等の関係機関と情報交換と調整
を行い、支援対象地域を選定しました。
SEEDS Asia は、ジャパンプラットフォームの助成事業として、2015 年
5 月 7 日～ 5 月 31 日の期間を第 1 フェーズとして、初動調査と緊急物資
配布を実施しています。具体的には、5 月 15 日～ 5 月 30 日までスタッ
フ 4 名をネパールの被災地へ派遣し、住まいを失くした被災家族に対して、
テント、調理器具・食器、衛生キット、寝具セット等の支援物資を緊急的
に配布します。
また、その後も、第 2 フェーズとして、学校の仮設校舎や子ども達への教
材支援の実施も計画しています。ネパールで未曾有の被害をもたらした地
震の復興には、まだまだ支援が必要です。
今後とも、SEEDS のネパール地震緊急支援にご支援・ご協力を宜しくお

「一景嶋公園の復興を考える会」ワークショップ
懐かしい方言と唐桑の雰囲気一杯のユーモラスな芝居に観客は大喜びで拍

に何が出来るか話し合った結果、犠牲者の追悼や震災の記憶を語り継ぐた
めの石碑を一景嶋公園に作りたいという案が上がりました。そこで、同実
行委員がそのまま「呼びかけ人」となって、南気仙沼の方々の声を聴こう、
という趣旨で今回のワークショップとなりました。
3 月 8 日に行われた震災追悼イベントの報告から始まり、石碑は慰霊のた
めなのか、それとも震災の記憶のためなのか等、活発な議論がなされまし
た。
この議論を元に、3 月 31 日には震災後各地に出来た石碑を見学しようと
呼びかけた人達は、気仙沼市唐桑町や本吉町を訪問して回りました。各々
の頭の中には一景嶋公園に建つであろう石碑の姿が浮かんだことと思いま
す。

【自主事業】
唐桑ものがたり仙台公演
2015 年 3 月 22 日、仙台市福祉プラザを会場に「唐桑ものがたり　海の
古道」が上演されました。SEEDS Asia が台本と演出を担当したこの作品は、
昨年 12 月に気仙沼市唐桑町で上演されたものの仙台市での再演となりま
す。
劇では、唐桑町の 1300 年前からの歴史を紐解きながら東北の信仰や文化
が散りばめられています。
今回は、昨年の活動で創設された「劇団夢の海」以外からも役者として伝
統芸能団体から出ていただきました。役者 14 名、総出演者 100 名、皆唐
桑町民からなる演劇公演です。

ベトナム事業を支えるローカルスタッフ
ベトナム
3 月から始まったモデル校での防災授業、4 月から始まったモデル地区で
【日本ＮＧＯ連携無償資金協力事業・クアンナム
の防災研修。どちらもエアコンなど皆無の高温多湿の中で実施されていま
す。
省沿岸地域における学校と地域での防災推進事
業】
この事業を陰で支えてくれているのが、関係団体からも時にキツイことを
言われながらもひたすら耐えてくれているローカルスタッフ。1 人は関係
3 要素が見事に融合した＜防災ゲーム＞授業
者と周到な事業調整をしている 32 歳の女性スタッフ。1 人はアドミ関係
を抜かりのない準備をする 29 歳の男性スタッフ。ベトナムの平均年齢が
2014 年 10 ～ 11 月に第 1 回目を実施した防災授業。第 2 回目は 2015
27 歳。彼らはまさにベトナムを動かすときに生きている若者です。
年 3 月 16 日より開始し、4 月末までの 1 か月半の連日、6 地区のモデル
校で展開されます。この半年間、如何に教員の授業展開精度が上がったか、
また児童生徒の授業への姿勢や理解度が向上したかが問われることとなり
ます。
3 月 15 日、誰もが唸るほどの「防災ゲーム」の 90 分がクアンナム省最
南端ヌイタン地区 Nguyen Khuyen 中学校 6 年で展開されました。
1）ウオーミングアップ：災害毎の避難場所探しゲームで授業への前向き
な姿勢を促す。
2）導入：全授業のレビューとして、教員自作の防災用語パズルで、本時
の目的を確認。
3) 展開 1：ゲーム参加者と応援者が一体となり、全員参加のゲームを展開。

4) 纏め：事前の備えと、家族近隣への広報の必要性を生徒の言葉で確認。

５) 次授業への予告：事前の備えとして避難袋作り授業を示唆する。
嘗ての事業でも何度か防災ゲームの授業を見てきました。しかし、参加
者全員の注意を引きながらこの授業展開することは、殊の外困難。残念な
がら＜これは上手い！＞という授業にはお目にかかれませんでした。政府
職員や教職員に実施した研修に於いても同様でした。それが、90 分とい
う長さに 1 度も休憩時間を入れることなく 39 名の生徒が一心に授業に没
頭したのです。
日頃の教員・生徒が築き上げた信頼ベースのクラスマネージメント。担
当教員を陰にあり日向になりアシストした校長先生。周到な事前準備を行
い、効果的な授業の流れの研究した教員。この 3 つの要素が正に最高の形
になった＜防災ゲーム＞授業でした。

ミャンマー
【JICA 草の根技術協力事業：災害危険地域にお
ける防災能力向上支援プロジェクト】
防災活動センター設立に向けたトレーニング開始
【於：ラプタ区】
本プロジェクトでは、クンジャンゴン区、ラプタ区、ボガレ区の全 3 区に
おいて、各区 2 箇所（それぞれ中心部と遠隔地）、合計 6 箇所の防災活動
センターの開設を計画しています。
各地の状況は下記のとおりです。

ラプタ区消防局の指導でロープを活用して避難する方法を学ぶ参加者
既に開設済のクンジャンゴン区中心部に位置するクンジャンゴン第 2 高等
学校敷地内にある防災活動センターでは、1 月に策定した年間活動計画に

米国の国際協力機関 USAID の支援により、ミャンマーの国家防災マネ

ダアンバンタヤン町の NGO 調整ミーティング

2013 年の台風で、セブ州の中でも特に被害の大きかったダアンバンタヤ

ン町では、複数の NGO が様々なプロジェクトを展開しています。そこで
4 月 10 日にダアンバンタヤン町の防災管理局を訪問し、防災分野で活動
をしている 3 つの NGO 間での調整ミーティングに参加しました。
防災教育コアチーム結成
このプロジェクトでは、フィリピンの学校における防災教育推進を目指し、
教育省第 7 地方事務所職員の防災教育に関する能力開発に取組んでいま
し合い、お互いの活動で補完し合える部分は協力する方向で合意するなど、
有意義な話し合いとなりました。他の活動地と同様に、ダアンバンタヤン
す。最初の能力開発研修のターゲットであり、のちに防災教育の指導・普
町でも防災教育モデル校を 2 校選出する予定ですが、学校防災教育を展開
及を担う職員が、防災教育コアチームのメンバーです。

本事業で最初となるタウンウォッチング・ハザードマッ
事務所にてコアチーム会議を開催しました。
プづくりのワークショップを東レンボーバランガイで実施しました。ワー
会議の協議内容は、2015 年 6 月に実施予定の本邦研修の内容と準備、コ
クショップは、東レンボーバランガイ長のスピーチから始まって、マカティ
アチームによる学校教員研修を実施する防災教育モデル校選出など、多岐
市長の防災アドバイザーであるセバさんによる本事業の意義、概要の説明、
にわたりました。
SEEDS Asia スタッフによる移動式防災教室（MKRC）の説明、マカティ
市都市計画課による同バランガイの災害リスクとタウンウォッチングの方
法に関する説明等の順序で進みました。
その後、3 グループに分かれて、タウンウォッチングを行い、視察後には、
地図を用いて、ハザードマップをまとめました。今回は、マカティ市の中
心メンバーにとっても、初めてのタウンウォッチング・ハザードマップづ
くりであり、今後の改善案についてもまとめました。

また、3 月 31 日の会議では、1 月に開催された JICA とのワークショッ
プで得たアウトプットについて協議しました。PDM（Project Design
Matrix：プロジェクトの目標、目標を達成するために求められる成果、成
果を生み出すために実施される活動内容などをまとめた表）は既に仮完成
していましたが、プロジェクト進行の核となるコアチームメンバーの視点
で改めて見直すと更なる改善点が発見され、難しい話合いでしたが実りの
あるものとなりました。4 月後半にはコアチームメンバーの防災教育の能
力向上のための研修を実施し、かつ 6 月の本邦研修に向けての準備を進め
ていきます。

議論がなされ、今回のワークショップは成功裏に終了しました。今後も、
引き続き、マカティ市と共同で、コミュニティ防災の向上のために、本事
業を推進してまいります。

第 3 回国連防災世界会議
神戸本部 ( 津田茂昭 )
3 月 14 日～ 18 日に仙台市にて開催された、「第 3 回国連防災世界会議」
に SEEDS　Asia が参加しました。兵庫行動枠組が策定された 2005 年の
国連防災世界会議から早 10 年が経ち、今回の本体会議では、兵庫行動枠
組の後継として今後の防災における国際指針、「仙台防災枠組」が採択さ
れました。この枠組では、2030 年までに災害による全世界の死亡率を大
幅に削減するという目標が盛り込まれました。会議期間中には、展示会や
パブリックフォーラム、シンポジウムが開催され、約 15 万人の方が来場
皆様、はじめまして。 3 月 1 日より本部事務局に勤務しています津
田茂昭（つだしげあき）と申します。管理部門を担当しています。
外資系石油会社に 37 年間勤務し、リーテルと舶用業務を経験しまし
た。防災教育に関しては門外漢ですが、これまでの経験と知識を活
かして、業務効率向上に寄与したいと思っていますので、どうぞよ
ろしくお願いします。

トワークとしてブースを出展し、各地での活動に関するパネルや防災教材
等を紹介しました。一般の来場者のみならず、防災関連事業を行っている
企業や国際機関、NGO・NPO の方にもお越しいただきました。

3 月 16 日の「東日本大震災総合フォーラム」の様子
また、期間中は、ブース出展に加え、パブリックフォーラムやシンポジウ
ムにもパネリストやスピーカーとして参加しました。3 月 15 日に開催さ
れた、「ABU グローバルニュースフォーラム」には、SEEDS Asia 理事長
および SEEDS Asia スタッフが登壇しました。世界の放送局やジャーナ
リストと、災害報道について様々な立場から意見交換を行いました。同日
に開催された、「東日本大震災と持続可能な防災教育シンポジウム」では、
シンポジウムのパネリストとして、SEEDS Asia 事務局長が登壇しました。
東日本大震災の教訓を活かした防災教育の実践をテーマに、ユネスコが提
唱する ESD の中心課題の一つである「減災・防災」の視点から、学校や
地域での実践や連携について議論を行いました。
3 月 16 日に開催された、「東日本大震災総合フォーラム：　持続可能な
開発のための教育を通じた防災・減災の展開〜より良い子どもたちの未
来に向けて〜」では、パネルディスカッションのコーディネータとして、
SEEDS Asia 理事長が登壇しました。被災地での防災教育の活動事例から、
ESD の概念は防災教育の発展と今後の活動の展開に貢献することができる
という内容でした。

はじめまして。3 月より本部事務所にて勤務しております、

ン・マイ・チャン（Pham Mai Trang）と申します。週 2 日程度務め、
主に翻訳、ニュースレターの編集、及びその他本部事務所のアシス
タント業務を担当させて頂く事になりました。
以前 JICA ベトナム事務所にて勤務した事をきっかけにして , 国
際協力に関心を持つ様になりました。自分の経験を活かして、
SEEDSAsia の活動に努力するスタッフの皆様をサポート出来るよう

Right after the earthquake occurred, SEEDS analyzed
the necessity of immediate humanitarian aid and decided
to implement emergency　support. SEEDS contacted a
partner in Nepal, NSET (National Society for Earthquake
Technology - Nepal), to acquire information and prepare to
send staff to Nepal. On 29th April, SEEDS's staff from India
went to Nepal to start activities in affected areas.
Based on the information from Shelter/ NFI Cluster,
Ka t h m a n d u s u f f e r e d h u g e d a m a g e c a u s e d by t h e
earthquake but support for emergency needs such as
temporary shelters and daily goods is insufficient. By local
investigation, SEEDS grasped current supporting situation
of shelters and daily goods, as well as information about
transportation, communication, security and material
supply distribution. At the same time, SEEDS also
exchanged information, made arrangements with local
administrative and related organizations and selected areas
to support.
SEEDS Asia is implementing initial investigation and
emergency relief distribution as a Japan Platform Forum
Assistance Project, of which the first phase is from 7th
to 31st May. Specifically, SEEDS is sending four staffs to
Nepal from 15th to 30th May and distributing emergency
relief materials such as tents, cooking utensils, hygiene kits
and bedding sets to families who lost their homes in the
earthquake.

Performance of “Story of Karakuwa” Arts Drama in Sendai
Workshop of “Association for Recovery of Ikkeijima
Park”
Ancient Road In The Ocean” was performed on the stage of
Sendai Welfare Plaza. SEEDS Asia cooperated in producing
script and performance of the drama. This drama was
performed for the first time in Karakuwa, Kessennuma last
December and now for the second time in Sendai.
On 22nd March 2015, the drama “Story of Karakuwa- An
The Ikkeijima Shrine, which suffered damages from
the Great East Japan Disaster, is a symbol for MinamiKessenuma community while the Ikkeijima Park, located
next to the shrine, used to be a base for holding residents'
community activities. On 25th March 2015, a workshop
was held by members of “Association for Recovery of
Ikkeijima Park” to discuss the recovery of the park.
The steering committee who published the Kessenuma
Memorial Book last year met to discuss what should
be done for the recovery and agreed on a proposal to
hold memorial services to the victims and build stone
monuments in Ikkeijima Park to hand down the memories
of the disaster from generation to generation. The
workshop was concluded with an agreement that the
steering committee will become a "promoting agent"
hearing opinions from the people of Minami-Kessenuma.
After a report on a memorial event for the disaster held on
8th March, there has been a debate on whether the stone
monuments are for commemoration of the victims or the
disaster, etc.
Based on this discussion, on 31st March, those who called a
field trip to stone monuments built after the disaster visited
Kawakura-cho and Motoyoshi-cho in Minami-Kessennuma.
The images of stone monuments built in Ikkeijima Park
may have come to each visitor's mind.
The 1300-year history of Kawakura was revealed while
the religion and culture of North East Japan was scattered
during the drama.
This time, not only the troupe “Yume No Umi” (The Sea
of Dream) that was founded from the activities last year,
but also members from other traditional arts groups
participated in the drama as actors. With 14 actors and
100 performers in total, it was a performance made by
Karakuwa townsfolks.
The drama's venue was Sendai Welfare Plaza, which was
also chosen to hold “Hamarainya Exchange Meeting” by
Kesennuma City Social Welfare Council. The meeting were
expected to assemble those who were affected by the
Great East Japan Earthquake in Kessennuma City and then
migrated to Sendai area. Since the drama was scheduled
3 days before the exchange meeting, more people heard
of and came to see it. The humorous performance brought
back many memories of Karakuwa's familiar dialects and
atmosphere, and won joyful applause from the audiences.
From the result of the questionaire to the audiences, there
are many voices expecting for the next performance in the
future, which heightened the performers’ spirit.

Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects・
Capacity Building for Disaster Risk Reduction at
School and Communities in the Coastal Area of
Quang Nam Province
The success of the lesson is attributed to 3 factors:
* Building reliable class management based on trust
between teachers and students
* Support from the principal
* Teacher's careful preparation and effort in creating an
effective lesson flow.

After the first disaster risk reduction (DRR)　class was
carried out last October and November, the second one has
been carried out from 16th March until the end of April at
model schools of 6 local communities. It's of interest to see
how teachers' skills of conducting lessons and students’
attitude and understanding of the lessons have improved
over the last 6 months.
On 15th March, a highly impressing 90-minute DRR game
lesson was implemented in Grade 9 of Nguyen Khuyen
secondary school in Nui Than district, the southernmost
district of Quang Nam Province.
1. The warming-up: Motivating students by a game that
ask participants to find suitable shelters for different kinds
of disaster.
2. Introducing: Verifying lesson's purpose by using teacher’
s handmade puzzles of DRR terms.
3-1. Unfolding 1: Getting everyone including supporters
participate in the game.

The DRR class starting from March at model schools and
the DRR event starting from April in local community
have both been carried out under high temperature and
humidity without air-conditioner.
In such conditions, this project was silently supported by
two local staffs who keep enduring hard work despite being
complained by concerned agencies sometimes.
One is a 32 year-old female staff who makes detailed
arrangements with related parties . The other is a 29
year-old male staff who prepares for administrative tasks
flawlessly.
At the present, the average age of Vietnamese citizens is
27. These two persons are now living for the movements
of their country.

“I have witnessed this type of gaming lesson many times
before, and it is extraordinarily difficult to develop such a
lesson that can attract attention of all students. (I really
regret that I missed lesson “Splendid!"). Trainings for

same situation. However, this time, 39 students in the class
all enthusiastically followed the gaming lesson for the

The current project, which is supported by JICA, designates
three townships named Kungyangon, Labutta and Bogale
as highly prioritized areas. In each area, two DRR Activity
Centers (DRRACs) are scheduled to be opened (one for
central area and the other for rural area). Thus, 6 DRRACs
in total will be established during the project.
The current situation of each township is summarized as
follows:
Kungyangon Township
1）
A DRRAC was built in the site of No.2 Basic Education High
School (BEHS) in Kungyangon Township. Based on this
year’ s operational plan agreed in January, in cooperation
with the Red Cross’ s local volunteers (members of DRR
Center), SEEDS Asia implemented a 5-day DRR training
from 27th to 31st March. About 30 village residents and
students joined this training.

Labutta Township
No.2 BEHS of Labutta Township was chosen as the location
for establishing a new DRRAC in the central area while
BEHS in Bithu Village was chosen for a new DRRAC in
the rural area. There have been many discussions with
task force members from each DRRAC on the image of
a capacity building program in need in the future. The
discussion topics vary from risk analysis to prevention and
countermeasures. The final training plan was decided in
March.

Bogale Township
The project team visited Bogale Township on 20th March
and reported the result of the DRRAC orientation session
held in February to the Chairman of the township. Based on
residents’ opinions collected in the orientation session, the
second floor of Tinjauan library was chosen as a candidate
venue for establishing a DRRAC in the central area of the
township. The library, which was established in March
2008, is famous in the country. The venue for establishing
a DRRAC in the rural area of the township has still been
under discussion among related parties.
Based on the same training plan towards the establishment
of the DRRACs, with the cooperation of the Myanmar
Engineering Society, a construction capacity building
training for carpenters and masons has been implemented
from 2nd to 3rd April.

Establishing the DRR Education Core Team
This project aims at the promotion of DRR Education at
schools in the Philippines and one of its initial steps is
building capacity of the officials of Department of Education
(DepEd) Region VII Office. In this project, DRR Education
Core Team members are those who were, at first, the
target of the capacity building training and then worked as
DRR Education instructors and promoters.
In March 2015, eight members of the team were selected.

Also, in the meeting held on 31st March, the members
discussed outputs of the JICA's workshop in January. The
PDM (Project Design Matrix, a logically designed chart
which describes a project's purpose, outputs to achieve
the purpose, activities to attain the outputs, etc.) had been
tentatively finalized, but the critical point of view from the
Core Team members as the project implementers definitely
made the PDM even more concise and precise. Through
the tough time discussing difficult issues concerning the
project, the output turned very fruitful.
In the later weeks of April, the Core Team will undergo the
capacity building training for DRR Education and prepare
for the Japan Study Visit in June.
NGO　Coordination Meeting in Daanbantayan
Municipality of Daanbantayan, one of the most affected
areas in Cebu Province by typhoon Haiyan in 2013,
currently holds various projects implemented by a few
NGOs. On 10th April, SEEDS Asia visited the Municipal
Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to
participate in an NGO coordination meeting for 3 different
NGOs, all of whose projects concern DRR-related activities.
In the meeting with nine participants, each NGO introduced
their activities and agreed to complement one another
in areas where they can cooperate for smooth project
implementation. Same with the other project sites of
SEEDS Asia, Daanbantayan will select 2 DRR Education
Model Schools. SEEDS Asia will coordinate with other NGOs
which have school-based DRR Education projects in order
not to have only particular schools receive benefits from

project to improve community DRR in the future.
Town watching and hazard mapping for the first time
in Makati City
SEEDS Asia is implementing town watching and hazard
mapping in 33 Barangays (the native Filipino term
for a community such as a village, district or ward) of
Makati City, which is located in the metropolitan area of
Philippines. Besides, SEEDS is also planning to develop
Mobile Knowledge Resource Centers (MKRC) and visit
secondary schools in 33 Barangays to implement disaster
risk reduction (DRR) education activities.　These activities
are implemented in cooperation with Makati Disaster Risk
Reduction and Management Office, Urban Development
Department and Department of Education (DepEd) Division in Makati City.
On 23rd April 2015, the first workshop on town watching
and hazard mapping in this project was implemented in
Barangay East Rembo. The workshop started with a speech
from the Chairman of Barangay East Rembo, and followed
by a presentation on the meaning and summary of this
project by Mr. Seva, DRR Senior Advisor to the Mayor
of Makati City, then a presentation on MKRC by SEEDS
Asia's staff, and finally a presentation on disaster risk and
town watching method in Barangay East Rembo by Urban
Development Department of Makati City.
Announcements from SEEDS Asia
The Third World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction
SEEDS Asia participated in the third World Conference on
Disaster Risk Reduction (WCDRR) held in Sendai, Miyagi in
Japan from 14th to 18th March. It has been 10 years since
the last WCDRR was held with the adaption of the Hyogo
Framework for Action (HFA) in Kobe in 2005. Following
the implementation of the HFA, the “Sendai Framework
for Disaster Risk Reduction” was adopted at the third
conference as an international framework for DRR from
now on. The substantial reduction of disaster risk and
losses in lives throughout the world by 2030 was added
as one of the distinctive outcomes of this framework.
During WCDRR, 150 thousand visitors came and enjoyed
exhibitions, public forums and symposiums.
Collaborating with SEEDS India as a part of SEEDS
network, SEEDS Asia exhibited a booth and introduced
about activities by showing each project site’ s panels and
DRR materials during the WCDRR. Among visitors, there
were some private companies, international institutions,
NPOs and NGOs engaging in DRR related activities.
After the workshop, members were divided into three
groups to implement town watching and use maps to
finalize the hazard map. It was the first time that members
from the center of Makati City had implemented town
watching and hazard mapping, thus, a proposal for future
improvement has also been created.
Inside the forum “Fostering DRR through Education for
Sustainable Development: Towards a Better Future for Children”
SEEDS Asia also participated in some public forums and a
symposium as a panelist and a speaker during the WCDRR.
On 15th March, the board chairman and a staff of SEEDS
Asia participated in “ABU 2015 Global News Forum” as
speakers. They exchanged various opinions on disaster
report with other speakers from broadcasting companies
and journalists in the world.

On 15 th March, the executive director of SEEDS Asia
participated in a symposium “The Great East Japan
Earthquake and Sustainable Disaster Risk Reduction
Education” as a panelist. The discussion topic was the
implementation of Disaster Education utilizing the lessons
learned from the Great East Japan Earthquake. Participants
discussed the implementation and cooperation between
schools and communities referring to “disaster prevention
and disaster risk reduction” , which is a central issue of
UNESCO’ s Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
On 16 th March, the Board Chairman of SEEDS Asia
participated in a forum “Fostering DRR through Education
for Sustainable Development: Towards a Better Future for
Children” as a coordinator of the panel discussion. Referring
to some DRR Education activities implemented in Tohoku,
it is thought that the concept of ESD contributes in the
development of DRR education and its further activities.

Hello! My name is Shigeaki Tsuda. I joined SEEDS
Asia HQ from March and I'm in charge of the business
administration function.
I worked for an international petroleum company for
37 years and provided services to various retail and
marine businesses.
Therefore I'm not familiar with the disaster risk
reduction field. However, I would like to take an
important role to improve the work efficiency with my
knowledge and experiences.

working as an assistant in SEEDS Asia Headquarter
office from this March. My main job is to translate and
