Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) is volunteer based humanitarian organization throughout the whole country acting
with and for the most vulnerable at all times. MRCS initial Salary determination will be calculated depending on

Project Background: Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) is going to start a Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) project called
“Enhancing Disaster Safety in Vulnerable Communities and Schools in Myanmar” with the support of American Red
Cross (ARC). The project aims at reducing the number of deaths, injuries and impact from disasters by increasing safety
and resilience in Myanmar. Objectives are: (i) to build the internal capacity of the MRCS to ensure the efficient delivery
of disaster response and preparedness programs and (ii) to reduce the vulnerability of target communities and schools
by building MRCS’s capacity to design and conduct appropriate disaster risk reduction education. Key activities include
the promotion of community safety and resilience approaches through the establishment of community-based early
warning-early action (EWEA) systems and the scale up of School-based Disaster Risk Reduction (SBDRR) measures.
Purpose of the Position: The ‘Monitoring and Reporting Officer’ under direct supervision of ‘Program Coordinator’ and
in close consultation with ARC-DRR delegate will be responsible be responsible for effective and efficient monitoring and
reporting functions of the Enhancing Disaster Safety in Vulnerable Communities and Schools in Myanmar‘ project. The
Monitoring and Reporting Officer will be a highly motivated, proactive and creative individual, who is able to work both
independently as a team member and under supervision as well as showing flexibility in meeting the various tasks
required by this position.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Monitoring and Reporting Officer’s responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Provide appropriate technical advice and support in the area of planning (log frame design and related areas),
monitoring and evaluation to the DRR Program with the support of ARC Senior Quality and Learning Delegate.
• Design appropriate program planning and monitoring tools for the Enhancing Disaster Safety in Vulnerable
Communities and Schools in Myanmar in collaboration with DRR team and ARC DRR Delegate.
• Ensure quality of surveys (baseline/end-line) and assessments in consultation with Program Coordinator, ARCDRR Delegate and ARC Sr. Quality and Learning Delegate.
• Regular field assessment, analyse information collected and make appropriate recommendations for the
program teams.
• Collect and analyse data and information on a regular basis to ensure that projects are progressing as planned.

Make sure beneficiaries database is regularly update and share to project team members and program
management.
Organize meetings or trainings for sharing information or giving feedback on findings and making suggestions
and recommendations for program improvement.
Promote beneficiary feedback mechanism in the project sites.
Coordinate/organize monitoring and evaluation field visits for MRCS team and ARC delegates
Ensure timely preparation of reports (such as monthly, quarterly and yearly report) & final report
Ensure quality control and objective analysis for activity reports update annual reports, quarterly reports and
ensure the standard formats and guidelines are adhered to and followed.
Documentation of success stories and good practices of the projects
Collect project’s photos , video clips and other visibility materials and include them in the reports
Skills, Competencies and Requirements

Myanmar National
Any Graduated and at least 3 years working experience in related field
Experience and knowledge in planning, project management and reporting
Good communication, mobilization, coaching, mentoring and facilitation skills
Able to travel to project sites frequently with short notice
Ability and willingness to perform assigned tasks and duties under tide pressure
Effective Computer knowledge (Especially Microsoft Office)
Effective English language skill
Red Cross Volunteers are preferable
