Salorno, the most southerly village in South Tyrol, is situated along the border between the German and Italianspeaking areas and forms the end of the South Tyrolean Wine Route. It is the largest growing area for white wines in South Tyrol. Haderburg, the castle of Salorno, which stands imposingly on the rocks above the village, is the symbol of this village. The old village centre, with its noble manor houses and Renaissance and Baroque buildings as well as its romantic streets and archways, exudes a very special charm. Situated somewhat higher up than Salorno (224 m) are the idyllic hamlets of Pochi and Cauria, at 556 m and 1,326 m above sea level respectively, which both belong to the Salorno municipality and which are part of the Monte Corno Nature Reserve.
