Digitizing German-language cultural heritage from Eastern Europe
27./28. April 2015, IOS Regensburg
Die Veranstaltung ist an in- und ausländische Bibliotheken und Archive gerichtet, die zur
Digitalisierung von Kulturmaterialien historischer deutschsprachiger Minderheiten aus dem östlichen
Europa – darunter auch jüdischer – beitragen möchten. Folgende Themenschwerpunkte werden
diskutiert:
 Eruierung von Möglichkeiten zur internationalen Kooperation (u.a. Digitalisatetausch,
gemeinsame bibliographische Datenbank)
 Diskussion zum gegenwärtigen Stand der Kulturerbedigitalisierung ethnischer Minderheiten
im östlichen Europa
 Vorstellung aktueller Projekte und technischer Lösungen zur Digitalisierung
verschiedenartiger historischer Materialgattungen (Periodika, Monographien; audio-visuelle,
statistische, kartographische Materialien etc.)
 Einbindung in die Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek und andere digitale ,Nationalbibliotheken‘
 Information zu aktuellsten technischen Entwicklungen (u.a. Handschriften-OCR)
 Skizzierung von Digitalisierungsstrategien
Die Tagungssprache ist Englisch.
Die Veranstaltung wird gefördert von der Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien
aufgrund eines Beschlusses des Deutschen Bundestags vorbehaltlich der Bewilligung der Mittel im
Bundeshaushalt.
