Be it collectors meeting at Art Basel Miami Beach, the young urban
scene in Berlin and Düsseldorf, or people interested in culture –
they all share something in common: their passion for art. BLAU
reveals to them the whole world of art – from antiquity to the
studios of Brooklyn and Berlin where the classics of tomorrow are
being created right now. At its centre are masterpieces and
the people behind them – and stories told by the best writers and
photographers of our time.
3
BLAU is available not only at specialist retailers and in museum
bookshops, but will also be enclosed as a supplement once a
month in the Saturday edition of DIE WELT – with a circulation
of 171,000 copies and a reach of 0.67 million readers, this makes
it Europe’s biggest art magazine right from the start. DIE WELT
has gained an important role in the art world over the last years. In
its successful series of “art issues” every year major contemporary
artists from Cindy Sherman to Gerhard Richter get to design a
complete issue of the daily paper. These issues are highly attractive
to culturally interested WELT readers, art lovers and collectors.
Museums are also fascinated by the series. Thus art issues of DIE
WELT are now featured in the collections of MoMA, New York
and Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin.
