Russland
Aufgrund seiner geographischen Lage zwischen Europa
und Asien hat sich Russland zu einem strategisch wichtigen Mittelpunkt der westlichen und östlichen Welt entwickelt. Trotz politischer Krisen und Anspannungen mit dem
Westen hat die Wirtschaft des größten Landes der Erde
dazu beigetragen, dass das Land in den letzten Jahren ein
Mitglied der G8 und eines der BRICS Staaten geworden
ist. Mit einer Bevölkerung von 144 Mio. ist Russland ein
attraktiver und chancenreicher Markt für Europa besonders
für Deutschland. Aufgrund der langjährigen historischen
Partnerschaft beider Länder und der großen Zahl der in
Deutschland lebenden Menschen mit russischen Wurzeln
sowie der Integrationspolitik der Europäischen Union haben Deutschland und Russland eine besondere Beziehung und ein hohes Kooperationspotenzial. Der Wunsch
beider Länder für eine solche Kooperation spiegelt sich
in der Erklärung des deutsch-russischen Jahres der Wissenschaft, Bildung und Innovation 2011/2012 sowie in den
Kultur-, Bildungs-, Forschungs-, Politik- und Geschäftsprojekten des deutsch-russischen Jahres 2012/2013 wider.
Die GGS
Die GGS hat sich in kurzer Zeit zu einer anspruchsvollen Bildungs- und Forschungseinrichtung entwickelt, die
sich als Think Tank für Unternehmen versteht und sich
in ihren Leistungen an internationalen Top-Standards
orientiert. Wir sind eine innovative und international ausgerichtete Business School, die verantwortungsvolle
Führungspersönlichkeiten in Management und Recht
aus- und weiterbildet. Die Business School verfolgt konsequent internationale Hochschulpartnerschaften, indem
sie bspw. Mit einer jährlichen internationalen Studienreise Universitäten im Zielland besucht. Die GGS trägt so
zu einem besseren Verständnis von Wirtschaft und Recht
in den verschiedenen Kulturen der Welt bei und ist damit ein Ort interkultureller Lern- und Erkenntnisprozesse.

General Programme and Academic Curriculum
In den vergangenen Jahren führte die GGS Studienreise in
die BRICS-Staaten Brasilien, Indien, China und Südafrika.
2014 war die Türkei als Vertreter der MINT Staaten (Malaysia, Indien, Nigeria und die Türkei) Zielland der GGS-Studienreise. Dabei werden den Studierenden der GGS schwerpunktmäßig fachbezogene Kenntnisse aus den Bereichen
Management und Recht und landeskundliche Aspekte vermittelt. Darüber hinaus bietet die Studienreise eine Plattform für den Dialog mit Unternehmen und Universitäten
sowie Begegnungsmöglichkeiten mit Studierenden, Wissenschaftlern, und Unternehmensvertretern in Russland.
Zusätzlich wird der interdisziplinäre Austausch zwischen
Studierenden und Professoren der GGS-Studiengänge gestärkt und damit der GGS Community Gedanke intensiviert.
Geographically located at the nexus of Europe and Asia,
Russia serves as a strategically important bridge between
Eastern and Western civilizations. Despite political crises
and recent tensions with the West, the economy of the
world’s largest country has allowed Russia to enter the
G8 and become one of the BRICS states. With a population of 144 million, Russia represents an attractive and
promising market for Europe – especially for Germany,
given the historic and long-standing relationship between
them. With many people of Russian descent living in Germany and current European Union integration policies,
Germany and Russia have a unique relationship and a
high potential for collaboration. The desire of both countries to provide mutual support was recently demonstrated
in the German-Russian Year of Science, Education and
Innovation in 2011/2012 as well as the common projects
in the fields of culture, education, research, politics and
business during the German-Russian Year in 2012/2013.
As part of their academic curriculum, students will encounter
enterprises that function in various industries and markets
(such as service organizations, production facilities, consultancies, and law firms), and the group will visit important
universities. GGS Professor Chris Stehr (International Management) serves as academic director of the tour. Students
are eligible for up to 6 ECTS credits for their respective
GGS programs. In order to obtain these ETCS credits, a
presentation and an assignment must be done (see module description). It is mandatory toward all students joining the International Study Tour to attend the preparatory
Seminar. Attractive tourism options complete the program.
Rahmenprogramm und akademisches Curriculum
Akademischer Leiter der Studienreise nach Russland ist
Professor Christopher Stehr (Internationales Management). Das Rahmenprogramm basiert auf einem akademischen Curriculum und umfasst schwerpunktmäßig Besuche von renommierten Hochschulen und Unternehmen,
die in verschiedenen Branchen und Bereichen (insbesondere Dienstleister, Energiewirtschaft, Consultingunternehmen, Kanzleien) und Märkten agieren. Für die Studienreise können Studierende 6 ECTS Leistungspunkte
erwerben. Für diese ECTS Punkte muss eine Präsentation
und ein Assignment/ Hausarbeit erstellt werden (s. Modulbeschreibung). Für alle Reisende verpflichtend ist die
Teilnahme am Vorbereitungsseminar zur Studienreise. Ein
attraktives touristisches Angebot rundet das Programm ab.

Within a short time, GGS has become a respected research
and educational institution – a business and law think tank
that adheres to the highest international standards. We are
an innovative and internationally oriented business school
dedicated to educating responsible business leaders. A key
part of our international approach is developing dynamic
relationships with other universities, particularly in countries we select for our annual international study tours. The
tours promote a better understanding of business and law
in diverse world cultures, and they in turn promote GGS
as a place of intercultural learning and understanding.

Tour Details
GGS study tours in previous years have taken our students to the other members of the BRICS nations: Brazil,
India, China and South Africa. In 2014 Turkey was our destination, representing one of the MINT states (Malaysia,
Indonesia, Nigeria and Turkey). The International Study
Tour to Russia will maintain our emphasis on management and law topics combined with regional and cultural
aspects. Site visits will offer a platform for dialogue with
host enterprises and universities, as well as the chance
to meet and interact with students, specialists, and company representatives in Russia. Throughout the experience, interdisciplinary exchange among GGS students
and faculty from different degree programs deepens the
opportunity for insight and builds lasting community.
