Auf der techtextil in Frankfurt Anfang Mai
wird Kuris erstmals die vierte Generation
seines Teppichcutters TC 3001 C öffentlich vorstellen. Zwei Varianten stehen zur
Verfügung: Eine mit statischem ScanSystem und neuester Kameratechnik
sowie einer verbesserten Beleuchtung. Die
zweite, hier gezeigte, Version mit der Kamerabrücke oberhalb der Cutter-Brücke.
Allen Modellen gemeinsam ist der
Schneidkopf mit programmierbarer
Z-Achse und Multiflex-Wechselsystem.
Letzteres sorgt für sehr kurze SetupZeiten. Die Verfahrgeschwindigkeit bis 100
m/min und die Schnittgeschwindigkeit bis
70 m/min tragen zur erneut gesteigerten
Effektivität bei. Je nach Einsatzzweck
kann zwischen fünf Arbeitslängen bis zu
4,05 Meter und drei Arbeitsbreiten bis zu
4,50 Meter gewählt werden. Die passende
Vakuum-Anlage wird der Größe entsprechend integriert.
Viel Wert wurde bei der Entwicklung der
Software auf die einfache Bedienung
gelegt. Der intuitiv verständliche „ShapeTrapper“ erleichtert die Arbeit im Alltag
ebenso wie die automatische Übergabe
der Schneiddateien. Wenn die notwendigen Schnittmuster für verschiedene
Teppiche erst einmal gespeichert sind,
ist der Ablauf so einfach wie er sich liest:

Carpet cutting made easy
At the techtextil in Frankfurt early May,
Kuris will show the fourth generation of
its carpet-cutter named TC 3001 C for
the first time. Two versions are available.
One with static scanning upgraded with
latest cameras and improved lighting. The
second is the one shown here, with the
camera-bridge above the cutting-beam.

All models share the cutting-head with
programmable z-axis and Multiflexchange-system, which provides short
setup-times. Moving-speed is 100 m/min
cutting-speed 70 m/min enhancing the
effectiveness once again. According to
usage five working-lengths up to 13.2 feet
are combined with one of three workingwidths of up to 14.7 feet. Two vacuumunits are chosen according to size.
Much importance was attached to the
ease of use of the new software. The intuitively comprehensible “Shape-Trapper”
makes everyday work easier – so does the
automatic transfer of cutting-data. Once
the necessary shapes are saved, the order
of tasks is as easy as it reads: take – recognise – cut!

Im Juni 2014 wurde Kuris USA mit Sitz in
Calhoun, Georgia, gegründet. Eine gute
Fahrstunde nordwestlich der Metropole
Atlanta, haben Niederlassungsleiter Martin
Rieder, Jill Hollaran (Büroorganisation) und
Steven Dupree (Finanzen) eine gute Basis
gefunden, um die Kunden in den USA
und Kanada zu betreuen. Genug Platz für
einen Showroom wurde eingeplant, die
Ausstattung erfolgt nach und nach.
Ein weiterer wichtiger Kunde ist auf die
Produktion von Taschen aller Art eingerichtet. Außerdem werden Abdeckungen
für Boote und Motorschlitten hergestellt.
Daneben ist Eishockey-Ausrüstung ein
wichtiger Produktionsteil von Creations
Morrin mit Sitz im kanadischen Drummondville in der Nähe von Montreal.
Das Büro befindet sich in einem Gebäude
in dem auch ein Teppichproduktionsbetrieb seinen Sitz hat. Das zeigt bereits
einen Schwerpunkt der Tätigkeiten. Denn
mit der Mountville Gruppe gehört einer
der großen Hersteller von Logomatten mit
drei Werken in den USA zu den Kunden.
Die Firmengruppe verfügt auch über
Niederlassungen in Belgien und China und
bezeichnet sich selbst als McDonalds der
Mattenindustrie. Vier Einzellagen-Cutter
sind dort im Einsatz; ausgerüstet mit dem
speziellen Teppich-Kopf und der Höhendifferenzerkennung. Zwei Anlagen wurden
erst kürzlich mit dem Dark Field Recognition System nachgerüstet.

In June 2014 Kuris USA, located in Calhoun, Georgia was founded. A little over
an hour drive from the heart of Atlanta
Martin Rieder (head of the branch) Jill
Hollaran (organisation) and Steven Dupree
(finances) found a perfect home base
to care for their clients in the US and
Canada. Enough space for a showroom
is available as well – the equipment with
machinery will follow step by step.
The office is located in a building that is
also home of a carpet producer. Which
shows one of the focus-industries. Example is the Mountville group which is one of
the major producers of image mats. With
its three sites in the US it is one of the clients. The group also has sites in Belgium
and China and calls itself the McDonalds
of mats. It uses four single-layer cutters which are equipped with the special

carpet-head and the height difference
detection system. Two of them were lately
updated with the Dark Field Recognition
System.
But the range of applications is broad –
in the US as elsewhere. Orange County
Thermal Industries (Team Octi) for example
produces isolation systems for many different industries and exports them around
the world. From this company in Los Angeles the first order for the new subsidiary
was placed.

Industries (Team Octi) Isoliersysteme für
eine große Anzahl an Industrien her und
exportiert diese weltweit. Von hier, aus Los
Angeles, kam denn auch der erste Auftrag
der neuen Niederlassung.

Another important client is specialised on
the production of all kinds of bags as well
as covers for boats and snowmobiles. In
addition icehockey-equipment is part of
the production range of Creations Morrin in Drummondville, near Montreal in
Canada.

SEIA trotzt schwieriger
Wirtschaftslage
Seit 1994 ist das Unternehmen als Lieferant von CAD/CAM-Systemen zur Produktivitätssteigerung und von Zuschnittanlagen aus dem Hause Kuris aktiv. Über die
Jahre wurde SEIA zu einem der führenden
italienischen Anbieter von Zuschnittsystemen für den Automobilsektor, sowie
für Hersteller von Bekleidung, Möbel,
Textilien, Spielzeugen und andere Industrien. Jüngst wurde das Unternehmen als
„idealer Partner in der Welt der ZuschnittSysteme“ bezeichnet.
In den letzten Jahren haben mehrere der
genannten Branchen unter der Krise in Italien gelitten. Für SEIA haben sich daraus
jedoch eher Chancen als Bedrohungen
ergeben und das Unternehmen hat mit
progressivem Wachstum seine Marktbedeutung ausbauen können. Inhaber Gianni
Gallina erklärt diesen Erfolg so: „Wir
wurden von unseren Kunden geradezu
gezwungen, mehr zu bieten als Maschinen. Wir wurden gefordert Probleme zu
lösen, um eine Chance zu haben. Das
hat unser Denken nachhaltig verändert.
Natürlich haben wir schon früher versucht
die bestmögliche Anlage zu liefern, heute
aber beginnt unsere Auseinandersetzung
mit einem neuen Projekt beim Endprodukt
des Kunden und allen Anforderungen, die
an dessen Herstellung gestellt werden.
Von diesem Punkt aus beleuchten wir den
kompletten Produktionsprozess des Kunden und
erst dann beginnen wir mit
der Planung der zu installierenden Lösung. Genau

In the future the company will realise a

solutions will be extended. While going

an important aspect. “That does not only
mean the personal communication of the
people involved, but also the communication between components, our machinery
and the overall production lines of our
customers,” adds Gallina.

aus aller Welt ein beliebter Anlass für
einen persönlichen Besuch. Auch dieses
Mal gab es neben der typischen Gastfreundschaft für die Besucher einige
Neuheiten zu entdecken.

customers from around the world a welcome reason for a personal visit. This time
like always – next to the typical hospitality
– the visitors were able to discover quite a
few novelties.

A16 wurde eine neue SchlauchlegeEinheit entwickelt. Wie üblich dreht sie
den Schlauch um 90 Grad, damit sich das
Gewebe entspannen kann. Der Vorschub
über den sogenannten Wendebreithalter
ist so gesteuert, dass ein Puffer in der
Ablagewanne entsteht. Dadurch werden
Spannungen vermieden.
Das Ledersystem ist bereits im Einsatz
und traf auf großes Interesse.
David Fernández aus Barcelona stellte
den Besuchern die Plotter der DOT-Serie
vor, die Kuris in Deutschland vertreibt.
Ausgestattet mit bewährten hp-Druckköpfen können sie Papier ab 20 g/m2 verarbeiten, was die Betriebskosten erheblich
senkt.

got a new device for spreading tubes. As
usual it first turns the tube by 90 degrees
so that the fabric can relax. The input over
the so called turning-spreader is regulated
so that within the deposit there always
is some reserve. That way tensions are
avoided.
The leather-cutting-system is already in
use. But it found great interest.
David Fernández from Barcelona presented the plotters of the DOT-series,
which Kuris will sell in Germany. They are
equipped with well-proven hp-printerheads and are able to manage paper with
a weight as low as 20 gr/m2. That is approximately a bond weight of less than
seven pounds, reducing the operating
costs considerably.
Zwei Auszubildende werden nach erfolgreicher
Prüfung übernommen
Prüfung bestanden. Tuncay Kisa und
Christian Mastro haben im Frühjahr 2015
ihren Abschlussprüfung als Mechatroniker
abgelegt. Beide sind ab sofort im Fertigungsteam bei Kuris fest angestellt.
Dreieinhalb Jahre dauert die Ausbildung,
die sich wie der Name des Berufsbildes
aus Kenntnissen in der Mechanik und
Elektronik zusammensetzt. Die Berufsbe-
schreibung bezeichnet die Mechatroniker
als Fachkräfte für komplexe Systeme.
Dementsprechend umfangreich sind die
Ausbildungsinhalte sowohl im praktischen
als auch im theoretischen Unterricht. Das
beginnt beim Bearbeiten von Metallen
und führt über den Zusammenbau von
Anlagen bis zur Installation von Netzwerken und Bussystemen. Daneben gehören
aber auch Inhalte wie die Organisation von
Arbeitsabläufen oder die Einhaltung von
Sicherheitsbestimmungen zum erlangten
Wissen. Das Berufsbild passt hervorragend zu den künftigen Aufgaben der
beiden, denn unter Anleitung der erfahrenen Kollegen werden sie genau solche
komplexen Systeme für Kuris und seine
weltweiten Kunden bauen.

The training takes three and a half years
and is done within a company and complemented by additional school units.
The name is a combination of mechanics and electronics. Once finished the
“mechatronic” is an expert for complex
systems – says the official job description.
Therefore the content of the education is
very broad in practical works as well as
at school. It starts with the work at metals, leads to the assembly of complete
machines and goes on to the installation
of networks and BUS-Systems. But also
things like the efficient organisation of a
work-flow or the necessary obedience of
safety regulations are part of the topics.
The job outline fits perfectly to the coming tasks of the two. Under guidance of
experienced colleagues they will produce
complex systems for Kuris and its customers around the world.
