Jo Stevens Achievements Jo has previously worked with Local music organisation’ Project Wired’ where she was heavily involved in the design and organisation of the Real Women programme. This programme was aimed at young women with low self- esteem and motivation and communication issues and was designed by various workshops based on fashion makeup and photography increase confidence and boost selfesteem. In the past 2 years Jo has designed and implemented The Entrust vacancy bulletin which focuses on sourcing jobs and opportunities specifically aimed at local young people with lower qualifications who require training as part of the job. She also lists all Apprenticeship vacancies within a 10 mile radius. The bulletin always includes tips and advice on Job hunting CV building and all things employability. A useful resource for the 500+ and 100+ professionals that this bulletin reaches weekly. This bulletin is also regular advertising for the Entrust IAG team and the services that we offer Jo has been successful in working with difficult to engage young people in the Burton and Uttoxeter area over her time within the organisation. She believes strongly that a complete, holistic approach to job seeking is the best way to assist a young person in finding work or training and remaining there. Profile Jo is an Assistant Careers Adviser for the Burton upon Trent team. Jo has been with this team for 8 years and has worked on a variety of different projects in that time. Key Skills Jo has a broad knowledge of training and young people’s provision in the Burton upon Trent She has excellent organisation skills and has organised and delivered many training provider events promoting the services of Entrust and other key young people’s organisations in the Burton area. She also regularly attends other local events aimed raising awareness of Entrust. Primarily a duty adviser Jo fronts the drop in desks three times weekly building up a successful and quality service for young people offering a range of support based on employability and job search. Jo regularly performs home visits in the Burton area to engage young people who are reluctant or unable to attend appointments or drop in at the library. She often visits alongside local training providers ensuring that Entrust continues to work alongside local provision to deliver a holistic service. Jo is happy to deliver employability and assessment work in schools to support Careers advisers. This work can be done one to one or as a group work with a number of students. Groups can also be held at the Burton Library duty area. She is involved in the development and delivery of a range employability sessions with local College and YMCA. Recent Assignments Jo has attended several careers events locally to promote Entrust. Engage with young people and gather information to update unknown records She has successfully completed employability sessions in De Ferrers School delivering three session per student based on Apprenticeship awareness, CV building and also interview techniques. Qualifications BA Hons in Fine Art and Photography Jo has completed a number of industry based courses focusing on child protection, substance abuse and self- harm, equal opportunities, anger and aggression, homelessness etc.
