August 17, 2014 Speaker John West Topic: Toxic Christianity
The heart of our mission is following Jesus. Jesus is leading a revolution of love. His revolution is centered on Loving God and Loving People. He was once asked what was the most important commandment by a religious leader.
The Religious leaders had counted 613 different commandments. It was a trick question, meant to trap Jesus. The
proper answer probably should have been all of them, but Jesus didn’t hesitate before he answered the most important commandment was to love God, and the second was to love people. Jesus said everything depends on this.
We have been called to continue Jesus’ revolution of love. If you are a guest this morning we pray that you feel
welcomed by a welcoming God, and by us. And we hope that you might be swept up in the revolution of love.

Each Sunday is a little different, but if you are new here, this
In - Missional
is what will generally happen. When we gather on Sundays, we
Communities
begin with a few songs, and then we catch up on what's hapJohn West

an offering. As our guest, we don't expect an offering; you
can re-fill your coffee, chat, or just get comfortable.
Next, we aim to know Jesus better by looking at the Bible together. The purpose is to connect our study to living life with
Jesus throughout the week.
We conclude with a time to connect with Jesus. We respond to
God’s goodness. One response is receiving communion. We also
sing, pray, even sometimes sit in silence. Some people may
raise their hands, cry, clap. Don't feel pressured to do the
same. These are just some ways that people have responded
to God since Bible times.

We conclude by being sent out to participate in the revolution
of love. Altogether our celebration lasts about 1 ½ hours.
