Building Fund Fee
The Building Fund Fee is a non-refundable fee for
adults. This fee ($75/adult) is used to maintain the
YMCA’s facility and equipment.
Cancellation Policy
To cancel your membership written notification
must be provided a minimum of 5 days prior to your
payment date. Membership cards musts be returned
and the $25 cancellation fee paid. We are unable to
accept cancellation requests by phone.

Continuous Membership
Your YMCA membership automatically renews each
month. Payments can be arranged through your bank
account or by credit card. Please remember to update
all changes to personal information such as address,
banking or credit card expiration dates.
YMCA Access
When you purchase a YMCA membership, you receive
a photo membership ID. Please present this card to
access the YMCA. If you forget your card, another photo
ID will be required. Guests and pass users are also asked
to present photo ID.

in the conditioning centre.
A Shoe Tag Orientation is
required for children to
access the conditioning
centre (see Page 6 for

Indoor Playground
A fun filled indoor playground that keeps
children active and playing with other
children. Parental/guardian supervision
is required. *Inflatable bouncer included
on these days. Please note that we will be
alternating the bouncy castles.
Parent n' Tot Fitness (0-1)
This fun social setting focuses on fitness
for the parents by incorporating your baby
into your fitness movements. Activities for
tots will also be offered. Staff supervised.
Parent n' Tot Aquafit
Bring along your little one for an aqua fit
class of cardiovascular training, toning and
stretching. Child accompaniment optional,
all are welcome.
Tot Lessons (0-2)
Parent participation required for
these Splasher and Bubbler levels. No
registration required. Note: Children 3yrs+
may be registered in our staff supervised
lessons.
Stroller Fit
An exercise class for parents/guardians
and babies in strollers. This class will
combine cardiovascular training, toning
and stretching while using the stroller and
baby to get the most out of your workout.
Tot Time
Enjoy time in the Play Pool with your little
one. For parents/guardians with children
0-3 yrs.

This is a drop in program. Meet new
friends, play board games, do crafts,
build things or sit back and read a book.
While the kids can come at any time,
parents are asked to respect the 1 1/2
hour time limit. Staff supervised.
Yoga Leaves & Trees
A basic introduction to yoga practice
for kids. We concentrate on flexibility,
balance and having fun. Volunteer
supervised.
Uechi Ryu Karate
A classical Chinese/Okinawan style
of karate. It is considered to be half
hard and half soft while incorporating
yielding blocks and body drills. Staff/
volunteer supervised.
Hip Hop
This urban style dance class uses popular
music to get your body moving. Staff
Supervised.
Beginner Handball
Similar to many racquet sports except
that the hand is used to strike the ball.
No previous experience or equipment
needed. This program takes place at the
YMCA. It does not incorporate travel or
tournaments. Supervised.

Aqua Sport

Advance lifesaving courses designed
to prepare participants for Bronze
Medallion. Emphasis is placed on rescue
drills, fitness skills and victim recognition.

The Coach Approach
A standardized exercise program with
cardio, strength training and stretching
designed to teach new and returning
members how to start and stick with
their exercise programs. Members are
introduced to the cardio machines,
shown correct usage of the strength
equipment and how to properly stretch
after a workout. For Personal Training

Shoe Tag Orientation
Includes an overview of our member
handbook, gym etiquette and how to use
some cardio and weight machines. Ages
12-15 years mandatory. For Personal

Steps to Becoming a Lifeguard
National Lifeguards are highly skilled and trained individuals! To join our
Aquatics Team you must be a minimum of 16 years of age and hold both your
Lifeguarding and Standard First Aid certifications. See the steps below:

Advance lifesaving course designed to prepare
participants for Bronze Medallion. Emphasis placed
on rescue drills, fitness skills and victim recognition.
Prerequisite: Star 3+

Bronze Star (no age requirement) or minimum of 13
years of age.

Second step in advance lifesaving. Prerequisite:

Whirlpool
Builds on the fundamental skills, knowledge and
values of the Lifesaving Society to develop the
practical skills and knowledge required by lifeguards.
Prerequisite: Minimum of 16 years of age old at time
of exam (must be 17 years of age to guard in NL) and
hold Bronze Cross, Standard First Aid, and CPR C.
Recertification required every two years.
