1.
RULES
1.1
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 a) Umpired fleet racing may be used in addition to protest hearings as described in the sailing
instructions. This changes RRS part 5,
sections A and B.
b) When umpired fleet racing is applied there shall be no appeal from any decisions of the
umpires in accordance with RRS 70.5.
1.3
Swedish competitors shall when racing follow the licensing rules for advertising as decided
by the Swedish Sailing Federation
1.4
Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing
authority.
1.5
Competitors shall when afloat wear personal flotation devices. This rule does not apply to
short-term replacement or adjustment of clothing or personal equipment, or when
competitors are in the harbor or under deck.
Wet suits and dry suits are not personal flotation devices.
This changes RRS 40. A boat that breaks this rule may be warned or penalized at the
discretion of the protest committee.
2.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
2.1
To be entitled to participate in the Swedish Sport Federation’s championships, each
competitor must comply with ISAF Regulation 19.
2.2
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance.
2.3
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk, see RRS 4, Decision to Race.
The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury
or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
3.
ENTRIES
3.1
Entry shall be made not later than July 7th, 2014 on the entry form available on
www.seglarveckanbastad.se. The entry is not valid until the organizer has received the
payment

3.2
The advance entry shall include the following:
Skipper´s name
Boat number/nationality
Skipper’s e-mail address and mobile number
Crewlist with name, nationality and club for each crew member.
3.3
The entry fee is 3000 SEK. The entry fee is not refundable. For entries or payments after July
7th, the entry fee is 4000 SEK. The fee includes:
- Participation in the regatta
- Craneage and berthing in the harbour from July 31th to Aug 3rd
- Opening ceremony and price giving ceremony
3.4
Payment of all Entry Fees shall be made to Sailing Båstad:

3.5
The Regatta Dinner is supplementary and paid at the Race Office.
4.
REGISTRATION AND MEASUREMENT CHECKS
4.1
Registrations shall be made at the Race Office not later than July 31st at 10.00 AM.
4.2
Measurement certificates shall be presented prior to racing.
4.3
Boats, sails and equipment as well as the crew weight will be checked.
5.
SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
5.1
The sailing instructions will be handed out in Race Office at registration.

RACING AREA
7.1
The racing areas will be just outside the harbour of Båstad.
7.2
Map of the harbour and the racing area will be presented on the event web site.

8.
THE COURSE
8.1
Windward-leeward course will be sailed.
9.
PROTESTS AND PENALTY SYSTEMS
9.1
In divergence to KSR section 5, part A and B the races will be direct judged on the water in
accordance to a system presented in the sailing instructions.
9.2
RRS Appendix P will apply.
9.3
Decisions of the protest committee will be final as provided in RRS 70.5.
10.
SCORING
10.1
The low point scoring system of RRS A will apply, modified so that when three or fewer races
have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
10.2
3 races are required to be completed to constitute a championship.
11.
PRIZES
11.1
Championship medals and titles may be awarded if six or more boats from at least three
different Swedish clubs located in more than one Swedish district have crossed the finish
line in one race in the championship.
11.2
Additional Prizes may be given for every fifth participant in the Championship.
