***Wait List applications cannot be renewed over the phone, in person, via
email or by submitting a new application. You must login to the Online Wait
List System and click the RENEW button in order to maintain your original
application date…there are NO EXCEPTIONS***
Q. I cannot login to the Online Wait List System!
A. If you are using Google Chrome or an Apple Device, try a different browser or
computer. If you haven’t followed the login instructions on the login page of the
Online Wait List System, please do so. You may need to try any cell phone
numbers or old home phone numbers you may have had in the past. If you still
can’t login please email [email protected] the EXACT id and
password you are trying so that the issue can be identified.
Q. When do I renew the wait list application?
A. Parents can log in to their family profile any day during the month of October to
reactivate their application/s. The RENEW button will not show up before October
1st.
Q. It’s September 2015 and I have logged in to my family profile. It says “You
have renewed the application for the 2015/16 school year.” Does that mean
I’m done? Have I renewed my application?
A. No, you are not done and you have not renewed for the following year. In October
2015 you need to renew for the following school year, 2016/17. You need to login
any day in October and click on the renew button.
Q. How do I renew my application?
A. Applications must be renewed online from the FFCA website. Under the Wait List
Tab, click on Wait List Information. Then click on Online Wait List System. Enter
your username and password then confirm your email address. You will then see
your family profile. Verify all the contact and personal information, updating any
phones numbers. To save the changes click on UPDATE. For address changes,
enter the new address in the “Email Student Services” area and click “Email”. Your
address will be updated and if required, your designated campus will be changed.
Then click on the RENEW button (located to the right of the parent information).
You will see a list of your children and the grade and year they are waiting for then
you’ll need to click RENEW again. Confirmation of your renewal will be sent by
email.
Q. What is my username and password?
A. Parents with a child on the wait list have a system generated username and
password.
Username:
Use the first initial of the first name of the parent whose name was entered first on the
application, then full last name of the same parent (First two letter are uppercase, ex
BSmith). Use uppercase letters where indicated in the example.
Password:
Use the first initial of the parent (same as above) then first two letters of the same parent's
last name, followed by the last four digits of the main phone number and then F for Father
or M for Mother (ex BSm1234F). Use uppercase letters where indicated in the example.
Q. When I renew the application does it affect my original entry date?
A. Original entry date remains the same if the application is renewed during the
month of October.
Q. What happens if I don’t renew my application in the month of October?
A. Parents can still login and renew; however, their application date becomes the day
they renewed the application. There are no exceptions.
Q. How will I know if my application was renewed?
A. You will receive a confirmation by email that your application has been renewed.
You can also log back into the system to see that the RENEW button is gone and a
message that is located just above your children’s names reads “Your application
has been renewed for 2016/2017”.
Q. I think I have renewed my application, but I cannot see the message “Your
application has been renewed for 2016/2017” on my family profile.
A. Your application has not been renewed. Please log into the system, and from the
family profile, click on the “RENEW” button located on the upper right hand side of
the screen. This will RENEW your application.
Q. I did not receive a confirmation by email.
A. Please log back into the system and verify that you entered the correct email
address. If there was an error in the email address, enter the correct information,
and click on the UPDATE button to save the information. Then email
[email protected] to ensure that your application was renewed.
Q. Why is an email address required to renew?
A. Email is how you will be notified when a spot becomes available for your child. We
do not process applications or renew them without a valid email address.
Q. Can I change my personal and contact information?
A. Parents can add/change/edit their own phone numbers. Double click on the area,
enter the numbers. There is no need to enter the same number multiple times. If
you use only a cell phone, that number will be used as your ‘home number’ and
does not need to be repeated in the work and/or cell phone areas. Click the
UPDATE button and the system will save the information. For address changes,
enter the new address in the “Email Student Services” area and click “Email”. Your
address will be updated and if required, your designated campus will be changed.
Q. How do I change my address?
A. Login to the Online Waitlist System, type your address into the box on the bottom
right hand side labelled “Email Student Services” and click “Email”. Your address
will be updated and if required, your designated campus will be changed.
Q. Do I submit a new application to renew?
A. No. Renewals are done online through the Online Wait List System. Renewing
online will maintain your spot on the waiting list. Submitting a new application will
start you all over again at the bottom of the wait list.
Q. I want to add another child to the wait list.
A. Download the wait list application, fill it out, and mail to Central Office, along with a
copy of the birth certificate and report card, if already in school.
Q. Why has my rank increased?
A. The main reason your child’s rank has increased is because a sibling has been
identified on the wait list. Siblings always get first priority on the FFCA wait list.
This usually happens in the spring when we register new students, but can occur
at any time of the year. Your child’s rank can also change as people move from
one quadrant to another in the city. After moving, children are sorted on the new
wait list according to their original application date. And finally, if we realize that a
child is on the wrong wait list (due to their grade or address) we will move them to
the correct wait list.
