Twas the Night Before Twirl Mania…
Twas the night before Twirl Mania and all through the house,
Everyone was excited: they're going to see the MOUSE!
Our entries were sent and filled out with cheer,
Knowing the deadline was December 1st this year
Under one roof Twirl Mania & Disney did start,
An International Championships for all organizations to take part
My mom and I practiced not leaving a gap,
While my Dad started packing his baseball cap
The Atlanta Braves are at Disney for pre-season games,
As my brother will watch for all the pro names
is wonderful to support our event,
4 parks, choice of tickets, who wouldn't be content?
The Wide World of Sports Complex was re-invented by ESPN,
A venue for sports at Disney, we hope the magic of Disney never ends!
Getting ready to compete at the newly named HP Fieldhouse without fear,
I know my coach has prepared me well for this year.
The Companies are ready to set up their displays,
Everything you need or fancy will brighten your day
Disney's Merchandise and T-shirts are only a part,
Of the wonderful items picked for your cart
Early registration is set for 2:30 pm Thursday at the All Star Celebrity Hall
Pick up your Twirl Mania and Disney packets, come one come all.
A meeting in the Field house for judges, coaches and staff
Consisting of briefings, schedules, Welcome Party and a few laughs.
As the judges are selected from all organizations to be fair,
They will offer decisions with ultimate care
The Twirl Mania Gold athletes compete Friday in prelims,
And dream of Sunday of a Top 5 finalist win
From Universities and Colleges across the land,
The Collegiate Classic Championship, definitely in demand
Come watch the Collegiate finals as they compete in Epcot,
They begin at 1:30 o'clock right on the dot
There is always something new at Twirl Mania to get you excited
Lot's of surprises, you'll be delighted.
This year we have the International Team, Men’s Masters and Senior “C’s” events,
We hope you got the TM brochures that included great information we sent.
Teams & Corps are preparing, better get a good view
Of the Disney's Magical Parades, don't you wish it were you?
All Solists are invited to parade in the Disney Parks
So download the music and routine, you'll get a head start.
Miss Twirl Mania is our Princess, she is chosen each year
From Novice to Elite, will it be you or a peer?
Saturday's solo schedule is good, so be sure to check
Novice, Beginner, & young Intermediate athletes are first on deck.
Then off to the Magic Kingdom parade, Saturday afternoon it's thrilling
You must be at the practice on Friday to get your back stage pass and drilling
After competition and the Magic Kingdom parade
Then fun in the parks until we are ready to fade.
Advance/Elite athletes are called on Saturday afternoon to start,
With all their solo events, finals and then to the parks.
The All-Star Finals for Elite Solo, Strut and 2-Baton are Saturday night,
With Glass Slippers and Mickey awards to the winners delight
As they compete in events from near and far,
They wonder who will become #1 and the star
A Gold Showcase is planned at the Magic Kingdom you know,
So don't forget Sunday to come to the show
Sunday is filled with competing teams and corps,
As spectacular performers take to the floor
There are talented Teams and Corps for the audience to view
So make sure you are ready when they are given their cue
There is one more thing you don't want to miss,
It's the Twirl Maniac and it's Beanie, be sure it is tops on your list
Coaches add their points anxious to see who will be
Twirl Mania's Coach of the Year , is it a she or a he?
On Sunday eve it's awards at ESPN,
Good sportsmanship and cheers - an athlete’s friend!
Spectacular awards is only the start,
As the night is full of performances, surprises as everyone takes part
Excitement mounts as the Awards Extravaganza is mentioned,
(All hoping that they are in contention)
Everyone is a winner, we want to mention and reinforce
Lots of friendships and comradery, right from the source
All is not over, there is still more to come,
It's Twirl Mania's 20th Anniversary so lets
partying
done
With the athletes clinic on Monday to add to the fun,
Going home with new material, you have hit a home run
get some
So excitedly we practice, prepare and wait
For Twirl Mania at Disney, you know the date.
Twirl Mania is often imitated, but we won't whine
Because everyone knows Twirl Mania, It's the only ONE of it's
kind
