ANNOUNCEMENT OF VOLUNTARY TRANSFER REQUEST PROCESS 2015-2016 To All RCSS Employees, • The Richmond County School System Voluntary Transfer Request process will begin on Monday, January 12, 2015. • Voluntary Transfer Request can be submitted to the RCSS Human Resources Department beginning on Monday, January 12, 2015 through Friday, January 30, 2015. • ELIGIBILITY FOR VOLUNTARY TRANSFER REQUESTS The voluntary transfer request process is open to all certified and classified employees; Lateral transfers from one building to another building within the school system; Positions in the position classification that the employee currently holds; If applying for a certified position, employee must be eligible to receive a contract for the upcoming school year; Employees on a professional development plan for the upcoming school year are not eligible; If requesting a transfer in a certified position you must be Highly Qualified. • CHANGES IN TRANSFER REQUEST PROCESS TO MAINTAIN CONFIDENTIALITY All transfer requests will be submitted directly to the RCSS Human Resources Department by electronic submission through the RCSS website. • Step-by-step procedures for the voluntary transfer request process will be available on our website beginning Monday, January 12, 2015. Please view the RCSS website homepage www.rcboe.org for information about how to complete the voluntary transfer process. RICHMOND COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM VOLUNTARY TRANSFER REQUEST PROCEDURES 2015-2016 • • • • • • • • • ELIGIBILITY FOR VOLUNTARY TRANSFER REQUESTS The voluntary transfer request process is open to all certified and classified employees; Lateral transfers from one building to another building within the school system; Positions in the position classification that the employee currently holds; If a certified position, employee must be eligible to receive a contract for the upcoming school year; Employee must not be on a professional development plan for the upcoming school year; The individual must be highly qualified in the subject area of the position in which the transfer is being requested. VOLUNTARY TRANSFER REQUEST PROCEDURES Certified and Classified employees who seek voluntary transfers for the ensuing school year should complete the electronic transfer request form on-line and submit electronically. The form will be routed to a central email account in the RCSS Human Resource Department that has been opened specifically for transfers. This form along with directions can be found at www.rcboe.org. Please submit your voluntary request form no later than January 30, 2015. (If you are not comfortable submitting personal information through email although the server is secure, please feel free to bring the transfer request to the HR Department in person.) • If there is a vacancy and all the requirements above are met by the individual that is requesting a transfer, the information will be sent to the principal for review. Voluntary Transfer Request forms will begin to be distributed to the current principal at the school the individual is requesting to transfer from as well as the receiving principal via Human Resources during the week of February 2, 2015. • If the principal is interested, provided there is a vacancy, an interview will be scheduled by the school principal. . *Principals are not obligated to offer interviews to all voluntary transfer requests. • After January 30, 2015, NO TRANSFER REQUEST WILL BE CONSIDERED. No later than May 4, 2015 all transfer request received during the voluntary transfer request window will be approved or disapproved. • If the principal is interested in having the employee transfer to such school or department , the principal will complete and submit a Personnel Change Form with both the employee’s signature and his/her signature to their Human Resource Coordinator after he/she has completed the interview process and chose a candidate. • The Human Resource Coordinator will review the Personnel Change Form. If approved, written notification will be sent via email to the employee, employee’s current principal, and receiving principal. • Employee placement, assignments, including transfer approvals & locations as well as any other adjustments may occur after official notification is received due to system changes and needs of students. • ***PRINCIPALS AND DEPARTMENT HEADS OF NUTRITION, MAINTENANCE, AND TRANSPORTATION PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THOSE INDIVIDUALS THAT DO NOT HAVE EMAILS ARE NOTIFIED OF THE VOLUNTARY TRANSFER PROCESS AND DEADLINES AND ALSO OFFERED ASSISTANCE.
